Both houses & cars have become too expensive for most Americans these days, most especially for single people and/or single-income households. Even a lot of 2 income households can't afford them.

I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day invt decisions being guided by a invt-coach, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using a invt-coach for over 2years+ and I've netted over 1.5million

They are. The losses are catastrophic. A lot of Ford's EV assembly workers were already shifted to gas vehicle assembly or laid off.

Then smart phones, tablet computers, battery watches and cordless tools will also fail in the USA. Over 5 million electric vehicles have been sold. Tesla alone sold almost 1 million electric vehicles in 2021, 1.3 million EVs in 2022, 1.8 million EVs last year and will sell over 2 million this year. Sure, failure is imminent. 😂

@TheRealCatofthe average commute is 27.6 miles. But its irrelevant. For example my area has 24 chargers for 30,000 people (over 18). 76% of those people commute. Do you think that’s near enough?

The only American vehicles I buy are GM products. Even then, you have to do your homework. Which engines are the best, which models are most reliable etc. i gave up on Ford and Chrysler a long time ago.

@@everymandriver maybe scam was a strong or wrong word to use, but for me the lithium-ion battery is not the answer. The mining, the transportation of the ore and the processing of it all puts a strain on our economy system, not to mention the fires they have caused. And a earthly limited supply. I’ve read you will need to drive your EV for 70 to 90,000 miles to end up on the positive side of going green and that’s if you don’t have to replace that tens of thousand dollar battery. I would love to go EV but living in the north where it gets to -20 in the winter and your battery life is cut in half and your charging time is doubled just doesn’t work for me. Now if I lived in Florida then maybe. We need to come up with better battery chemistry, maybe that solid state battery I’ve been hearing about but time will tell. And then there’s the possibility of hydro electric where the car produces electricity using hydrogen and produces electricity as it’s needed and there’s no battery needed or at least a very small one. So for me, I’m waiting. Perhaps a hybrid would be a great way for me to go until total EV is improved. EV dealerships are filling up so there should be good deals for those in the right climate. Even our government backed off some on mandate deadlines.

My elderly neighbor couldn't sell his Wrangler 4dr., no one wanted the pristine vehicle at any price. The used Jeep market is flooded in my area. He donated the Jeep to a charity and took the tax write off.

How can you defend Jeeps. I worked for the Forest Service and had the displeasure of having three assigned to me. Something was always going wrong with them. One memorable problem was having shift levers coming out of the tranny. (It got so bad that the mechanic gave me a long screwdriver to work the shift fork so I could limp back to station.) I was continually borrowing other employees vehicle because my Jeep was in the shop. Plus the build quality was so poor that I was constantly breathing dust when I drove down logging roads. The straight 6 engine was the only good thing on them. It looks like things are actually worse now that Stellantis bought them. Just about every online mechanic say how undependable they are and laugh that some are just rebadged Fiats.

I visited my good friend today where he is the assistant GM of a Ford dealer. (they had free food :) ) and I asked him how many EV's they sold in the past 30 days and he said zero. How many ICE vehicles sold? 32.

Don't be to sure about Oakville Ford plant. Latest news is Ford is working on new small EV more affordable platform making Oakville very nervous about EV Explorer/Lincoln plans. Remember, Ford under Farley changes plans every 3 months.

My Chrysler Town and Country was the worst vehicle I've ever owned. Once one thing went, 4 other things went in the same year. I had electrical issues on and off for the full time I owned it, and it would have repeat issues like coolant leaks. My boss had a Chrysler and had similar issues.

Hybrids are the way to go. Full EV is impractical, costly and unacceptable for apartment and condo dwellers and many situations. I bought a Toyota Venza and am happy with the 40 mpg (after owning a late model 15 mpg Subaru Outback).

VW Atlas - mine is on its third water pump- my wife keeps it in the garage and drives it one mile to work…..embarrassing to have to keep a bottle of coolant in the trunk of a new car. Have to top it off a couple ounces twice a year

I owned a 2012 Wrangler Sahara two door. Freedom top had to be replaced due to frequent leaks. Had a rear axle seal go causing me to have the seals replaced an brakes completely replaced. Roof was warranty, rear seals cost $1500. No other issues in 5 years of ownership.

One of the worst cars I owned full size jeep Cherokee Chief, 76, worst mileage and broke down a lot and this was the late 80s, next Datsun 210, motor blew up at 70000 miles, bad carb, electric problems, seat problems that nearly caused an accident (recline switch had a defect), paint and rust issues as the car aged.

So more or less the manufactures are taking out some trash. As for reliability, on paper the design and engineering can be solid but if the execution is crap, the car will be garbage for reliability. Jeeps are garbage.

I live in California now and I’m surrounded by EVs. With all of the charging time and lack of charging stations in the middle of the country I couldn’t see myself driving across the country in an EV. Plus the cost of an EV is insane. My 2006 BMW 6 speed manual x3 did just fine over 3K in 90+ degree heat. Yes gas is expensive here but I don’t drive very much. I only drove 2k last year. My only relative is more than 300 miles away so no, no EV for me.

i am not surprised by the inclusion of Chrysler. Now that the 300 is done that leaves the Pacifica/Voyager. I have a feeling that Chrysler will be a name soon consigned to the dustbin of auto history. I am also not surprised by Jeep except that I see a lot of the current Jeep Compass on the road. Probably they are offering good lease rates. I wonder why Jaquar, land Rover, Kia & Hyundia were not on the list of least reliable vehicles. too bad VW cannot get it together, the Jetta & Tiguan are nice looking vehicles. Also why wasn't BMW & Audi missing from that list?

Guys, 1.2 million EVs were sold in U.S. last year and 1.8 million projected for 2024. While lower than projected, it still is a lot of sales, and many ICE vehicles sold are HEV or PHEV that don't use much fuel.

@@Michael-ur5qb What it means is that in 5-10 years ALL vehicles will be electrified in some way being either HEV, PHEV, or EV. And some states are already banning the sale of ICE only vehicles by 2030 or so.

People should have a choice of buying a car rather then phasing out gas powered cars. EV's are going to use all of our electricity. The price of buying a battery is so expensive. Thousands of dollars.

some of these have had falling sales for years or never caught on in the first place Toyota Venza for ex never sold more than 70,000 units in the US per year while the Toyota Camry sells 4x as many as the Venza or more last year for ex the Venza sold 30,000 units in the US while the Camry sold 291,000 almost 10x as many

@@Hoosier-u4w It's more than just anecdotal regarding what I said. You might have been a rare outlier or an old customer when they used that unbreakable 4.0L V6 from AMC. Consumer Reports, to Edmunds, and every reliability reporting outlet is a citation for how horrible they are. I was dumb enough to buy one in 2017, and it was in the shop Every Single Month. My colleagues who bought one had the same experience. I warned a buddy of mine not to buy a RAM 1500 5.7; lo-and-behold cams are ticking after 50k miles. Those vehicles are just awful. Personally, I drive a 2020 F-150 (the last good year of the Farley era), but swore by my Tacoma for years until now. No problems, but maintenance on those two vehicles.

It is ironic, given its reputation, that Jeeps have become unreliable. In '74 I bought a new CJ5; parts fell off too often. I usually spotted them in my rear view mirror.

The problem with Mercedes-Benz is they used to test cars sometimes for years before bringing them out. Now they rush them out, they no longer design them to fit people comfortably and they are so loaded with electronics that they fail. When someone pays $160,000 for a car and its in the shop a few times a year, this is unacceptable.

The Venza has been around a lot longer than 2020. That was the year it was updated to this version. If I'm not mistaken it came out in 2008 ish. As far as this unreliable list, I'd take that with a grain of salt. They don't get very specific do they? All car makers are known for having a certain issue they seem to take forever to fix because it would "cost to much".

The truth is, when you send a survey to a customer, the most unhappy and unsatisfied people are the ones who respond. These surveys out of 100 are meaningless. Jeep unreliable? I don't think so. Chrysler falls into obscurity. Not a chance. Mercedes has electronics issues, maybe one model. Haven't these companies planning on switching all of these models to EVs been reading the news? Nobody wants them and the batteries and charging stations are seriously lacking in every way. No, I'm NOT an EV hater, I was all for them until I found out how they're just not ready for prime time yet. New battery technology and a greatly increased infrastructure of charging stations (that work too) needs to be in place as well as enough power plants to feed them. We don't have any of those things yet.

Chevy should not kill the Camero. Bad decision. The rival muscle car Mustang will not be killed by Ford. A new generation 2025 Mustang will be released later in the year. In general, car manufacturers need to see what the competitors are doing before making a decision. As for that upcoming new generation 2025 Mustang it'll "still" come with a V8 engine which is great! All because of politicians regardless of party at the Federal level, state and local levels are the reasons why there is so much haste to go EV. As we've seen many times due to the rush, automakers didn't have time to iron out the wrinkles. As for the wrinkles, we see what they are such as accidental fires, cars not keeping their usual range in cold temperatures, charging stations not functioning correctly in cold temperatures, long wait times at charging stations due to not enough of them being available or some just simply bring put of order.

Jeep is sturdy when they aren't breaking down. You are confusing a tough exterior with mechanical reliability. The transmissions are garbage for starters. I'm sure some people reading this have heard about the infamous Jeep Death Wobble. If not, look it up. Unfortunately, modern Jeeps are garbage. I know too many people that have to take them to the shop a lot. That said, they are fun when they are running, and older Jeeps were built a lot better and were actually reliable.
