Mass Effect 3 is the best game in the trilogy, I will die on this hill. ME2 is the one that's remembered as a masterpiece, and it probably has a slightly better narrative overall. But ME3 has way better gameplay than 2, they added a bunch of cool stuff, and besides locking a super critical story mission behind DLC the entire campaign is fucking fantastic, nearly perfect, until the last 15 minutes. The star child/select a color ending was very stupid. That sucked. Even the extended ending was pretty flaccid. But everything until that point was really fucking good. 13 is loved by newer players to the series. The funny thing is the game was blasted for being linear, but so was FF10. Bad character design, but 10 had some cringe characters as well. A sequel that had a great battle system but confusing story, yup. It’s remarkable the similarities between 13 and 10, yet 13 is dumped on. I loved the stagger system, but I did feel the paradigm system was lacking. But the difference between the cocoon mobs being part mechanical and the gran pulse mobs being full biological was genius. 13’s weakness is they created another majorly confusing story like 7, but they didn’t create memorable characters that led people to wanting to figure out the real meaning to the story.

I think that the biggest thing regarding "The Last of Us Part II" is that this is a game that you have to play multiple times through to get the full flavor (if you will) of the overall story. I have played this game several times now, and I keep finding little things every single time that add to the overall understanding of the story. I left my emotions at what they did with the trailers (and Joel) at the door and did NOT let it affect me when I entered into the actual game and I have come to appreciate just how good a game it really is. Hate it all you want, that's your prerogative, but BOTH sides need to stop shaming the other side for their opinions of the game. Like a famous meme from a hockey interview says "Why do you have to be mad, it's just a game?"

@@NickaLah there's a way around that point of no return so that you can do every ending and get all the ending rewards as well. When you get there, just go for whatever ending. The only one that screws you is if you want all the cars, as I did on my second play, because you have to screw over Panam and Saul will give you one if the coolest cars. Played Cyberpunk 2077 3 times since it came out. Despite its many flaws, the fighting is fun, the world is not the living breathing place that they made it out to be but it is fun to be in, the lights, the buildings and the surroundings are top notch and make you feel like you are in Night City. The story is great, the characters are mostly believeable. Alone for the V and Johnny moments, the game is worth it. Overall, it is about 40% of what was promised but the 40% are really good and worth the time invest.

Felt a little called out with the valhalla comment but honestly it was because the DLC was locked behind a seperate paywall. I bought the season pass and didnt receive the final update. Was kinda annoyed. Seeing as I have very little money to spend on games, paying for a game, then buying the season pass and not getting what I felt I paid for really turned me off. I feel like I might go back eventually because the lore is just so cool to me and honestly I think I put in over a hundred hours but being so soured and the grind makes it feel like it isnt worth being a completionist here.

I think this also applies to certain Sonic games, including Frontiers. From what I could tell, a lot of fans, myself included, absolutely loved the game & think it's one of the best 3D Sonic games ever! Some critics, and other parts of the fandom...not so much. It sits at an odd area when it comes to Sonic games, when Sonic '06, Forces & Boom: Rise of Lyric were universally hated. Or games like Colors & Generations receiving great amounts of praise (which is definitely warranted). While Unleashed is in a similar boat to Frontiers. While Frontiers isn't exactly controversial when compared to the other games on the list, it's reception was definitely interesting.

I don't think the game is bad, however the state it released in was. No game should be released like that. A game shouldn't need major fixes, that could take months or years, to make the game good. So as good as the game is, can't just brush the bugs under the rug. Needs to be acknowledge. At the end, I'm happy they did keep supporting and working on the game, and people enjoyed and still enjoying the game. No game is perfect. Sadly the release did a lot of damage and now people won't even give the game a chance.

I have a massive one: Every single Total War game since Empire TW. The extreme lack of quality of the new engines (to the point where the early 2000s titles completely outclass the new collision physics in a noticeable and frustrating way), the active direction to a more arcady style and slacking on the general aesthetics of the UI that made Med2 and Rome1 so immersive, the absolutely price gouging DLC practices with not only day 1 Early release DLCs but also literally withholding blood from a game about battles and charging you to get it, and the complete destruction of siege warfare (at least since Rome 2) has just been crushing to the historical fanbase that built the games to what they are. But at the same time, the mobilization of the Warhammer fanbase and giving it an official TW (even if it is low quality) has saved the company despite how much the core games have been chopped to pieces. It's at the point now too where the Warhammer fanbase is starting to even get frustrated with the new games and most historical fans have refused to buy even the new historical titles until they prove themselves and so CA designs the historical titles to be semi-fantasy in order to try to blend the fanbases but has only made the historical base more angry and failed to convert the fantasy fans.

I thought it was pretty fun too, was honestly surprised when I learned how hated it was. Oh well, isn't the first time I found myself different from the hive mind of the internet, and honestly prefer that I am not a lemming blindly hating on things because it isn't what everyone likes.

I remember how divisive was the reboot version of Devil May Cry, DmC. It was a nice game with better mechanincs than its previous games but the fact Dante wasn't the same brought some anger for some players. Funny to remember about it.

Another very interesting and well made video! This probably didn't make it in since it wasn't *that* controversial, but based on the video it reminded me of the mixed reactions to Breath of the Wild. The situation is pretty much like Assassin's Creed where the newer installment changed some of the franchise's core mechanics drastically. I remember that the older Zelda players are complaining the game's non-linear gameplay, vast but pretty much empty world, short dungeons, and breakable weapons. It also has something to do with Breath of the Wild having no coherent place in the franchise's lore which the community is very fixated on. That's why that part of the community is quite watchful on the upcoming sequel.

Everyone that loves Days Gone can't tell exactly what they love about it and I'm one of them. There's nothing particularly special about DG, but it just... DG is perfect.

You should do games with the largest learning curve or highest skill gap

I nominate Divinity Original Sin 2 for the learning curve, so hidden mechanics and other things that the game doesn't tell you, but I guess it does have an easy mode

i think Wanted : Dead also had to be in this list. it's such a unique game with of course, a lot of jank but under all those weird stuff it's such an interesting game

I'm one of those people that played CP2077 day 1 of release on PC. The game has its fair share of problems still. But overall, it's a solid game. I've put in well over 600+ hours into CP2077 and I still enjoy it to this very day. :) My DP on here is Johnny Silverhand. From my very first playthrough. xD

I spent 120 hours in this game. After completing every mission there is nothing to do. The world looks amazing, but is pretty shallow. 99,99 percent of the buildings are hollow on the inside and there is so much unused potential, like car racing, trading and random encounters are very underutilised. For me it's half a game.
@HNKYTHECLOWN Жыл бұрын
@@hyperturbotechnomike you have not spent enough time actually developing games to gave an opinion on what they could and couldnt have done, its not half a game most game developers dont spend time on what they could have done with dumb secondary things and focus on the art of story telling lol, and 120 hours isnt even enough to 100% the game lol

Last of us 2 surpassed the first as far as I’m concerned, loved it, both games really.

I vividly remember watching Nakey Jakey talk about The last of us 2, and at the end of his couple hour video the editing just pans out, and it's just him on his Yoga ball in front of his green screen. Hearing him say "I'm just dissapointed.", then opening a beer and just drinking it followed by months of inactivity hit really hard for me personally.

Got to run it for the first time 3 weeks ago, got hooked. The last games i got hooked on were, Elden Ring, RDR2, Sekiro and DS3, that's about it for the past 5 years. The bar is set pretty damn high for a game in order for me to play it and enjoy it. And Cyberpunk 2077 got there, not a 10/10 but a classic and a great game for sure, i'd give it a solid 8.

Great video but I have to put in another game fallout 76, I got it when it first came out hated it so much ! There was so many bugs and with it being online kept getting disconnected from servers all time, but decided to give it a go a few weeks ago after 3 years and I’m hooked with it now can’t stop plying, it’s not perfect by any means but it’s a fallout game but they fixed it and added loads of stuff now for new and returning players to keep you playing.

Eh I don't know that really fits because overall it was well reviewed. Same could technically be said about the modern resident evil games. Even though they get great reviews and sales, there is a very vocal fanbase that only likes the originals and that's not quite the same thing.

Cyberpunk was blessed with new life by edgerunners which was by all accounts a really solid story and animation that came just at the right time when CDPR was sorting out all the bugs and had gotten the game into a playable shape. There were definitely the people who loved it despite its faults when it came out, and i was one of them, i even 100%ed it and i do that with very few games, but one could argue it wouldn't have stood the test of time without an absolutely stellar companion anime to make it popular again and the future of the franchise is on much more solid footing again thanks to edgerunners.
