I would love a 7 or 6.5 prc. I have the 6.5 creedmoor and I love it but here in ny I haven’t seen a single box of 6.5 prc yet

@@Brandenuzis they seem to have it in my area- 7mm 08 are harder to find. Local Walmart seems to be well stocked compared to awhile back with other deer hunting rounds. Didn't see 6.5 prc there- have to go to the gun shop for that

Do you see 6.5 PRC as a more effective hunting round than the Creedmoor? I moved away from the 6.5 Creedmoor and back to the 30 cals a few years back for hunting. I got tired of tracking and poor blood trails. My opinion was that the 6.5 Creed needed more velocity and energy. The 6.5 PRC accomplishes both. The other question is bullet construction. I am guessing you use Hornady Precision Hunter with the ELDX. Did the bullet seem to hold together or disintegrate?

In general yes. You can push the same weight or heavier bullets at faster speeds than the Creedmoor, so the terminal ballistics will naturally be better. I do think the Creedmoor is just fine for whitetails in most circumstances. I wasn’t thrilled with the performance of the 143eldx on the shoulder hit doe. I’m currently working up a load with a monolithic bullet or a bonded bullet for that gun.

The needmore would do better w lighter bullets 120 is plenty 130 s I use 120 s and 129 130 s in my Swede never had a problem w deer or elk for that matter a 6.5 x 06 build does long 90 gr 140 Berger vld yotes to elk I’ve even shot black bears w the Swede 160 round nose. Pass through every time I’ve never recovered a bullet

Needmore like the Swede don’t need to be hot rod but 120s would be my go too I use 120130s bt in my 7 mm 08. Fantastic results

Corn can be Picked (by a picker), Shelled (by a combine), or Chopped (by a Chopper), but “cut corn” refers to an old adage before mechanization when farmers would cut with a “corn knife” and feed it live or as silage to livestock. That was not cut corn.

He’s referring to the chopper. I call the corn that had had the chopper thru it “cut cut” I’ve also heard it referred as that when just corn topped.

It’s a 6.5 prc not a creedmore I have the same exact gun you don’t need a muzzle brake although I have one on mine because I think just leaving the threaded barrel there with nothing on it looks dumb

Muzzle breaks aren’t just for reducing recoil. In some cases they can also improve accuracy

I. Not very impressed with the 6.5 prc. Them deer ran like they weren't hit. All i kno is when i shoot deer at those distance with my 3006 or 308 things fall down. Them light fast rounds might be the best option for target shooters but for hunting i prefer a hammer not stapler

Nobody takes head shot's on doe. I won't shoot a doe in the body unless it's with a bow. I'm not a fan of blowing up a bunch of meat if avoidable.

If you shoot em where ur supposed to you don't loose much if any. Now if ur shooting them in the shoulders or ass then that's on you. I shot my buck this year quartering towards me in the base of the neck just in front of the shoulder and only meat I lost was the heart
