Fully agree when it comes to coats! I live in a very rainy climate so I have multiple trench coats (different colours, length and warmth), one long wool dress coat, a couple fun coats and a couple utilitarian coats for gardening / walking the dog in bad weather. It's nice to inject personality and whimsy in a world of blue, grey and black coats, especially under leaden skies!

AMEN! I think coats don't get enough credit. It's so easy to have a blah-outfit for running errands and pair it with a spectacular coat. (Especially if you aren't going to take it off.)

I agree that more visuals would help, both what not to do and what is a good choice. I have very bad neuropathy in my feet and it’s almost impossible for me to find shoes that I can wear in the winter time especially. It’s very depressing because I know that she can make her breaking outfit, but I can only do what I can do what I can stand when I’m out, darn it!

Great content. But some us need visuals to help us see what you mean - for instance you say shoes can ruin an outfit. It might be helpful to see the same outfit with two different kinds of shoes and see how the wrong pair of shoes ruin the outfit.

When I say shoes ruin an outfit (in this context) , it is less about "this shoe is good and this one bad", but wearing "comfortable" like beat-up booties that should have been retired two years ago or tennis shoes that don't go with the category of outfit. I do a more comprehensive teaching on which shoes go with which category of outfit, how to match the "vibe" of your outfit with shoes, how to find comfortable shoes, and more inside of my program.

For face shape, that is something I teach in my course and then give you examples for the best frames, earrings, hats, etc. For jean styles, this is something I also teach in my course because brands will call something "one thing" when in fact, based on it's measurements, it's another.

I just tuned into your channel and really like your explanations, but would really appreciate some examples of the types of clothes you reference. Especially when discussing body types it would be nice to know styles that meet the “balance” thinking. For example to create “in” on a straight body are you talking about belt??, or a tucked in shirt and wide leg pants?? Pictures or examples PLEASE 🙏

There isn't just one way of creating "in" for a straight body type. It's about building an outift in totality. That includes style of top and pants, details, colors, and how you put the items together to create the outfit. You can wear a contrasting colored belt if you want to bring some attention "in", but more likely than not, it's going to disrupt your vertical balance and you are going to feel "off". Plus, for many straights, a belt just highlights the fact we don't have waist and has the opposite effect in an outfit when we wear it without a layer. I get that you just want to "know", but it's impossible to teach all there is to know about fashion and dressing your body type in a 13 minute video. That's why I have a course and mentors that work with you so you know how to build an outfit in totality.

All good advice! Too many women do start to feel as if they don't need to think about what they are wearing and how they look once they reach a "certain age". Not true! I'm of the mind that no matter one's age, one should always strive to look their best. When you do that you feel great and present a smart, savvy, and knowledgeable woman to the public. People will treat you with more respect and pay attention to your opinions! We are first judged by the way we look, which is extremely important to remember!

And that some items have just passed their "due date" and are not in style any more. I don't understand why those women even click on fashion info videos if they are going to proclaim "I will wear what I want! No one can tell me what to wear!" I watch a lot of fashion videos and this kind of attitude is quite common. I imagine that is exasperating for a KZbinr trying to help others...

You are a 1000% right. I also find it frustrating. If you want someone to tell you that your capris and oversized tunics look great, then either search for that "I want to be told I look great in capris" or don't click on the video. Again, fear is a HUGE factor in not trying new things, especially as we get older. But fashion is SUPPOSE to FUN and it SUPPOSE to make you feel GREAT about yourself.

Since I don't know your body type, I can't comment. Clothes that work with your body, not against it; that fit; and are in your style are the most important things about creating an amazing outfit. Without all three, your outfit will always look off.

Wide-leg isn't the only style having a moment. Flares and trousers are also having a moment. I plan on doing a wide-leg video here in the next couple of weeks because they aren't the easiest jeans to find.

Hmmm .... I don't think I mentioned skinny jeans as been on trend. Regardless, they are actually making a comeback, but less from the jeggings style and more from an equestrian look. The "old money", Ralph Lauren-Style is one of the hot trends right now and those style of pants work with that look.

Amen. I don't believe in a X number for anything. I believe in having a wardrobe full of clothes that you love wearing. (That's the key, you are wearing them.) For some people, that's a minimalist wardrobe, for others that's a maximalist. Neither is right or wrong as long as you are wearing everything. :)
