Wow! Kelly, I so needed this video. I struggle with weight gain from meds, being sick and not able to do things. Your message is so positive. Now I really need to work on my closet. Thank you so much.

Nice video and insightful comments! Thank you! While I have gained weight , my issue is that all the fabrics that you describe are expensive. So I started to thrift, and maybe altering the fit by sewing. But having a bigger belly now, so you need the stretch in the pants. Some days there is less bloat, so not sure how to accommodate that whole thing in fit when your body can drastically change one day to the next. I never really cared about the number (size) I just cared about fit too.

You are so welcome! I think it is something that women at any age or size need to hear. The ability to make great outfits and feel good in our clothes should not be reserved for certain sizes ... it's available to everyone.

Always! We are so important to society. All of us. And the more confident we feel the more impact we have on our circle of influence.

Good message but I think photo examples would be nice.

Thanks for the suggestion. I dislike putting examples of other women (especially stock photos) because I don’t think it’s an accurate representation. We share photos of our students and community however on our Instagram channel.

But Dolly Parton has the tiniest waist and looks appropriately curvy, I am big & squishy midsection and look more like SpongeBob. I don’t feel like I should buy anything new except accessories and mostly thrift. How can I pull off wearing a belt around waist with a dress when I have a large waist as well as large breasts 🙄. I love going through my wardrobe and getting rid of things that don’t work & donating or selling them.

Hi Dawn - Dolly finding a right-sized bra has nothing to do with the rest of her proportions. :) As far as being squishy in the middle ... I'm always flabbergasted at the number of times I hear women talk about belts and how they are "supposed to wear them". While, yes, a belt creates visual interest at your natural waist, that doesn't mean everyone should wear one. If your natural waist is bigger or the same as your real waist (they are in different areas), then it's not beneficial to wear one because you will appear bigger than you actually are.

You are so right about shapewear! I recently ordered a travel dress that I felt looked frumpy on me. After trying out some new shapewear I gave it another chance. What a difference in how it looked and how I felt wearing it! I was not only comfortable but now confident.

I hate jeans.❤

Is that because you haven't found jeans you like to wear or they aren't your style? If they aren't your style, then find other full length bottoms that will work. If you haven't found jeans you like, make sure to watch my video about jeans.

Oh, sweet lady. This makes me so sad. We should love our bodies at every stage because they have brought us to where we are today. Hugs.
