Well.. The Oyo story- He doesn't "own" those hotels. Oyo is just an app developed for booking hotels BUT now a house owner can even rent a room in their house as a OYO hotel. If one is looking for a paying guest or a homely atmosphere and doesn't want to book an expensive hotel room, there's that. Many homestays , paying guests etc has benifitted from Oyo. A student appearing for an exam might have to spend a single night somewhere. It's also great for couples finding places to spend night together without any hassle (cuz it's still India) .. that's what makes OYO special.

Oyo is akin to air bnb of the west. His native place is a very remote village of Odisha, surrounded by forest region heavily infested with Maoist insurgency. The biggest thing is even the ability to conceive the OYO hotel booking app idea starting from such a humble place and being able to transform it into reality. This was done before the jio 4g revolution took place and he was able to fully take advantage of the resulting mobile connectivity expansion.

The billionaire, the founder of "OYO" hotels, was revolutionary at one time for several reasons - Most hotels were expensive - Had Low occupancy He solved both these issues. However, now the standards have dropped, and yeah, it is an outlier compared to the other stories. You could argue for many other startups for inspiration in that regard.

OYO hotels are cheaper hotels for lower class & middle class people with good facilities at affordable rates. For that he tied up with poor maintenance hotels, invested in maintenance & made it available widely at cheaper rates & he succeeded.

The billionaires story did not find favor because India is not supposed to generate wealth for itself.It’s supposed to allow multinationals to run freely in its markets.They should remain poor while tirelessly working for the environment,the upliftment of society under stress and other ‘selfless’ acts that indicate generosity of spirit and ofcourse the two things can never happen together in a country like India.All this while the Western Hemisphere talks about how great capitalism is for society and talk ad nauseum about how their wealthy philanthropies can solve the worlds problems.This is not taking away from any of the people featured on the program.They are all great for what they are doing.I’m pointing out the double standards in expectations of where the money that supports charities comes from.

U guys don't know in ,95 I used to live in Southall West london.google it.anyway in start of movie when amrish Puri is walking from back home 1 min he's In central London then in Southall broadway.lol. I remember my sister cuming home and telling me they yrf are filming ddlj at our local gas station.amrish was there.little did we no ddlj was gonna b big Hindi blockbuster. I used to live on Abbotts road.were they filmed the scene.srk was new then. Darr with my favourite sunny deol had come out in 93. And we all felt srk will be a big deal one day.and he did.lol.
