I don't care what anyone says, I really apprecaite the Legendary Godzilla films & what they've given us. Just the fact that King of Monsters gave us the opportunity to see a more realistic & badass Ghidorah for the first time was amazing on its own! Ghidorah's always been a favorite, but the guy-in-a-suit/head puppet stuff never truly made him as menacing & terrifying as he should be. Also, while watching your video I've also gotta give props to the VFX team on Godzilla '98. I know it gets a bad wrap from a lot of fans, but those effects look really good, especially for 1998!

You got a couple of things wrong. Serizawa didn't sacrifice himself, he cut the line and died to prevent the oxygen destroyer from ever being used again. It's sort of the moral of the film. There is debate whether the Heisei Godzilla is technically the same origin as the original Godzilla, since they are possibly the same creature. These movies are a direct sequel to the original, although he's a bit bigger (80m vs 50m). Almost every movie deals with it's iteration of Godzilla being different from the original, the 60's Godzilla would be the same as Godzilla Raids Again if you consider King Kong vs. Godzilla a direct sequel, since he escapes from the iceberg. The important part of the WWII island scene in GvKG, is they moved him off the island into the ocean and, although they were planning on creating a new Godzilla, the Godzillasaraus was hit by a modern nuclear submarine in the 80's and grew to 100m in height and more powerful. So it's technically the same Godzilla, just the modern nuclear power made him more powerful. It also means that Godzilla Jr. makes absolutely no sense.... GMK is also treated as a sequel to the original, and acknowledges the American version. His purpose and origin is slightly different but you could argue it's the same creature with renewed life from the WWII dead, or that was his origin in the original film also.

@@rocker458117it's not supernatural. The processes mutating him were kicked into overdrive through exposure to toxic and radioactive waste. His cells are more like cancer cells that can *correctly* copy themselves. Further, cells rapidly altering their structure in reaction to stressors is not unheard of in nature. There are a few temperature sensitive SCOs that have the standard blob shape that transform into an almost squid shape to move if the temperature changes suddenly. Once they're back to a correctly temperature area they revert back to the initial form. Genetic studies show they've essentially got extra DNA they can slot in or out as needed. The problem with zilla is that it has nothing similar to Godzilla. It is smaller, very weak, no atomic breath, it's biggest threat was laying eggs and even then it could be taken out with conventional weapons so no it isn't Godzilla. On another note I hated the anime trilogy and singular point. Shin was great though as it was exactly what Godzilla was, a nuclear mutant that symbolizes a disaster.

@@MrChristofDracul "a nuclear mutant that symbolizes disaster" is an apt description for Zilla as well as Shin. I find Zilla to be a close enough reimagining of Godzilla mixed with the Rhedosaurus. I also hated the Anime trilogy and Singular Point. But I also really hated Shin Godzilla. But to each their own.

@orinanime11 ай бұрын
@@GhidorahFan64 LOL the overgrown part is why it looks like a nuke made it. Giant ants, giant spiders, giant animals/creatures etc ... All made by nuclear radiation. That's been the way of cheesy giant monster sci-fi movies since the 1950s. Zilla looks like a giant mutated dinosaur. Godzilla looks like a giant mutated dinosaur, except based on the incorrect illustrations of what we thought dinosaurs might look like 80ish years ago. LOL Keep your rose colored nostalgia goggled opinion to yourself buckaroo.

My fav godzilla is haisai I think it's the best version of godzilla if I had to compare the godzillas I would have to say legendary godzilla movies are like arcade fighting games and the haisai is more like a classic rpg with better story and characters now that godzilla Minus 1 is jus awesome best movie of the year and best godzilla movie since the haisai era

"Kiryu Saga Godzilla's Abilities": Amphibiousness, Atomic breath, Energy absorption and projection, Physical abilities, Durability. "Kiryu Saga Godzilla's Weaknesses": Chest wound and Mothra Larvaes' Silken Cocoon. "Anti-Godzilla weaponry": MechaGodzilla: A third version of Mechagodzilla, Kiryu, appeared in Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla. This time, the mecha was built around the skeleton of the original Godzilla from 1954. However, DNA in the bones caused Kiryu to remember that it was once Godzilla and it went on a rampage. Once the JSDF was able to get Kiryu under control, it forced Godzilla to retreat. Godzilla and Kiryu would meet again in Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., but this time, Mothra would intervene. Mothra demanded that Godzilla's bones (inside Kiryu) be returned to their grave. The JSDF agreed, but only after Godzilla was defeated. Ultimately, Kiryu made the final decision and returned to the sea on its own will, carrying Godzilla with him and plummeting into the ocean.

I didn't think Godzilla 1998 was all that bad. I just didn't like that he was CALLED Godzilla. It would have been just fine if it had been named something else. I have actually really liked the MonsterVerse movies.
