In our school, there was an event to perform these kind experiments in front of people. It was actually our biology teacher not chemistry teacher, who encouraged and supervised us.

for the fire extinguisher at 3:52, why did she add potassium iodide to the hydrogren peroxide? is it to cause the release of O2? the KI wasnt illustrated in the equation given so that confused me

Not a quick response :) but KI acts as a catalyst and is not an actual reactant. I should have put it on the reaction arrow.

40 mL hydrogen peroxide (200 vol) + 20 mL dishwasher detergent and finally KI (potassium iodide) saturated! (Just a little bit). Be careful with hydrogen peroxide because it can burn your skin and use gloves! Sorry my English 😹
