Little “trick” for not overeating is to not put bowls of food on the kitchen/dining table. I keep the food in the kitchen so people have to get up to get more. Makes it a little bit harder. Also, my personal rules are no “seconds” and no food after dinner meal is finished. Bob and Brad are great!

According to Dr. Heller, the correct way to get your true weight is to weigh yourself every day, write it down, like on a grid, and add it up at the end of the week and divide by seven. That's the average. When I do it that way, I see that my weight never fluctuates by more than 2 pounds. Also, it automatically eliminates any anxiety from suddenly having a slight weight gain, especially for women.

I don't know about weighing yourself every day - it can cause you to get a bit obsessive if you're that way inclined and that's not a good road to go down, once a week I find it more helpful and it helps to keep you in healthy habits.

I agree. I don't think most people need a scale to know where they are at. Another problem is that if you are working out you could be getting healthier and gaining muscle, so the scale may not be a good indicator of results.

Agree. Weight can fluctuate so much in just week - hormones, sodium intake, exercise. I'm not obsessing over that number. I go by how my clothes fit - keep a pair of all cotton jeans on hand. But I'm also not trying to lose - trying to maintain where my body likes to be without me having to go to drastic steps to shed pounds (guess I watched to see if they had some good morning strength exercises). Agree! I started counting carbs when diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. It’s amazing how easy it is once you learn how and I was never “strict” with an exact count per meal. I lost pounds and inches. Getting into a habit of checking the carb count on chips and other snack favorites is a huge. I don’t feel like I am depriving myself but it makes me aware of the ginormous amount of carbs and I usually put them back on the shelf

Same here. I weighed myself yesterday afternoon and again this morning. Six kilogram difference. Because of retaining water in really hot weather. I know this is why my weight fluctuates so much despite having lost about 10cm from my waist, 15cm from my hips, 7cm from upper arms and 3cm from my bust in the past couple of months. My measurements and looser clothes tell the story and I only step on the scale to get my lowest weight if possible because the doctor wants that number, not my body measurements.

@EmpressG
@EmpressG 3 жыл бұрын
Snacking at night should not be a problem. Just choose your snacks more carefully. Air popped popcorn with a glass of water is a good choice because the popcorn is full of fibre that fills you up and the water helps to bulk it up even further. Eat kernel by kernel rather than handful by handful to make it last longer and for your 'stomach full' signal to catch up to your brain. 😊

Eat healthy (Peanut butter with bananas) in the morning ( spinach eggs) for lunch ( egg salad or any salad, soup) for dinner Make sure you eat cause if you don’t you will loose water weight which is nothing related to loosing weight regularly, For those who don’t like to drink water I prefer for you to add strawberries, lemon juice, ice and water it can also benefit well on clearing you skin trust many people did this and let me tell you I was surprised it’s time to glow up ⬆️ 🤌🏼

I find that weighing everyday causes me too much stress --they say you should not focus on such numbers if it causes you to stress about it. I weigh once a week in the morning. Also the scale is not a good indicator of the changes you may have made in your behavior. I think it is good that you both allow for individual differences. "Our weight fluctuates somewhat from day-to-day, and daily weighing can lead to discouragement and potential diet sabotage if you see a higher number on the scale than you saw the day before. Most diet experts believe that a once-weekly or even monthly weigh-in is a more accurate reflection of weight control progress."

Many years ago someone did a study where they asked people to keep track of what they ate for a period of time and then that's what they fed the people and they all lost weight.

So... either people suck at tracking their food, or they were all underreporting because they were embaressed?

Please do one video on how to rehabilitate the injury to digitorum brevis muscle. I had an injury and it has been more that six months and the area where toes (not the big toe) begins hurts a lot. I am a teacher so i need to stand for long hours on daily basis. There is not one video on KZbin that deals with healing of this muscle. It is hurting a lot.

I haven't had to watch my weight since going vegan over 30 years ago. And there are plenty of protein options for breakfast: scrambled tofu, tempeh BLT, vegan breakfast sausage patties or links, nuts, high protein smoothies, etc.

I think the grapefruit diet was back in the early 80s...my parents lost a lot of weight on it...it was from a company called " The Diet Center" not sure if they were all over the US...but they were in Florida for sure.

I am going to give your tips a try tomorrow morning. I found out today I have a fatty liver, common with people who are over weight, Dr. said. I am nervous though because I know I need to do this, but I just don’t know if I have the will power to do it. But going to try and have fun with it.

I lost 40 kilos in 3 months by just changing my diet to plant based foods only(no meats or dairy) I cut out all refined sugar, no cooking oil and no gluten, last meal a day was no later than 7pm at night, I also drank 1st thing in the morning a lemon, ginger, cumin, pinch of black pepper about half an hour before breakfast and never drink with a meal, I made sure I ate beans or lentils every day, nuts after fruit to stop the insulin spike…. I am sure I could have lost more if I had worked out too

I placed myself on 1200 calorie a day diet. I do use the smaller plates/bowls, it worked for me. I have lost 20 pounds, I need to loose about 10 more, but I am stuck on the same weight. So, I am going to try adding water, 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar with mother, chia seeds, lemon juice mixed and drink that 1st thi g in the morning. I will see if that will take off these last 10 pounds.

Try to get up from your seated position once in a while. Go for a walk outside during your lunch break and get some sun even on cloudy days, summer and winter. Sitting all day under flourescent lights is unhealthy! Stay away from the vending machines and desktop candy jars. Good luck avoiding the weight-loss perils of office life!

Guys! What about weight gain? You would think that would be easy enough! More than two years ago we decided to quit sugar- including any processed foods using it in ingredients(not easy). I dropped ten pounds in about six weeks and kept it off. Then my partner started intermittent fasting for medical reasons, so our eating schedules make it convenient to eat meals together only a few times a week. I dropped another five pounds. I'd like to gain a bout ten pounds ( I do work out every day-weights and a lot of stuff I've gotten from you guys), but I'm having no luck so far, in spite of overeating at Thanksgiving.

Love your channel, but I have a degree in Nutrition and I have to disagree with the daily weighing. My credential was not for boasting, but to give substance for what I am saying. Especially for women, fluctuations in weight is more common due to fluid retention due to hormones. Daily weighing can be discouraging.
