dhalias are heavy feeders but in 7 zone you should be able to get them to come back if you cover up with leaves or anything that will make it come back.

Another problem with nandina is that the berries are poisonous to cedar waxwings.

NO English Ivy (obvious reasons), and NO Lance Leaf Coreopsis (powdery mildew magnet).

You are hilarious! And I have given up on hydrangea! They are beautiful and I love them all, but I'm like a hydrangea reaper. So I've given up on them. Everyone I know has them but bit me. For me they go to vast lengths to commit suicide.
