​@@breakfastgun3590 considering Pike Place Fish Market sells Wild Alaskan King Salmon frozen at sea between 27.99-39.99 dollars per pound (depending on cut and whether or not its farm or wild) it doesn't actually seem all that crazy for it to be $56 following preparation. I get what you mean and respect that, but I'm trying to put it into context for others why that cost exists. Wild Alaskan King Salmon (also called Chinook) is the largest and most rich flavored of all the species of wild salmon, the only salmon that comes close to it outside the wild is farmed Atlantic, which is only slightly heavier in omega-3 fatty acids. And that's quite significant considering we're talking about a naturally existing creature at 1700 milligrams per 3 ounces of Omega-3 vs a bred one slightly edging it out at 1800. And those farmed fish generally have (in my experiences) worse types of fats as a result of their diet. It makes Wild Alaskan that much more impressive honestly. Personally? I think if you're going for salmon, find the one you really, really like and stick with it and damn the price whether its low or high. Salmon is a rarity for a lot of people, so im never going to snub my nose at someone. And one more tip, find the type of style you prefer it in. Because more often then not, I find that people only like Salmon in that very specific way to them, whether its grilled, oven cooked, beer battered or something else completely.
