My Dad is a hero. All these techniques he did 50 years ago. But he passed away 22 years back. We never knew his hardship and now when we meet his old friends and colleagues they tell us how My Dad bagged a Job and kept upfront in the skill. Kudos to you Dad. May ur soul rest in peace . Thanks a lot Chandoo for sharing this.

My steps into Excel and in everything realy, is common logic and common sense, 1 + 1 = 2 (there are, of course mathematicians that will try to proof you wrong, but; that's another dicussion), so building on that logic I advanced and time and lots of practive brought me where I am nowand am proud of what I have achieved en learn (more) every day, never too old to learn. Thanks for the video. Pick a problem - this one works really well for me. Go wide before going deep - this one is new for me, but I am sure it works. We often keep focusing on one feature and it takes so much time to master it. But the truth is that in most cases we need a lot of different feautures (liabraries etc.) to actually solve a problem.

1) Pick a problem and solve it, (ex. how to merge two sets using excel), 2) going wide before going deep, understand high-level key features of excel, then pick areas to go deep into 3) Connect dots or incremental learning 4) Have fun or play with Excel, download data sets and go wild, automate tasks or use a different approach for the same problem 5) Don't be biased towards a particular concept, learn everything and then choose your path 6) teach - the best way to learn 7) reflect and revise and how it is applicable in your work 8) Don't hesitate, just implement what you've learned
