It IS 10 years, but if you were married to the veteran for 8 years and the veteran was 100% for 8 years, you would get an ADDITIONAL amount added to the regular DIC payment. It's a couple of hundred extra dollars.

I love not paying property taxes on my home since 2014, which was $1500 per year. I need to check the taxes for 2024. The dental care is outstanding and I saved taxes on two new vehicles within the last 10 years.

What state do you live in? In CA, mine is over $8k per year and that's low since we bought in 2010. Homes nowadays pay well over $12k a year. Also, we can ONLY get ONE vehicle exempt for plates as a 100% P&T.

Benefits are written in the books, but a VA employee actually has to approve the benefits that you deserve and if they never approve them, you never get them. Nobody talks about that though..

Yeah, hey sounds cool ladies. I’m 100% medically retired after 17 years 10 months. I also got my CRSC….akd yet, I still can’t find a job as I’m discriminated against openly as a disabled / retired vet. I did my time in 8 years of combat in 4 countries. Now I just want a job and a normal life.
