As an INFJ, I’m teaching those around me specially at work, that I’m always listening… I can be looking for an email, or doodling on a notes pad , but the fact that I’m not making eye contact, does not mean I am not listening and or processing every word thats been said Even if it is not directed at me.
@KibatheMalinois

It's the worst when they passing hints or hiding something in their words. You're not looking at them but you know somethings up even if it's not directed at you or anyone in specific. I over analyze everything and always think there is more to read between the lines and sometimes I just feel like somethings up like my own little spider sense.

Thinking is what we do, and I'm proud of it. Before knowing anything about personality types when I was 17yo, I was thinking about what I wanted my life to be like when I became 25, and then 35, every 10 years I thought about. Do you have any idea how many people go through life like dead wood floating down stream? Not me thank you very much.

@@blktester you too huh? So tell me, did any of your predictive thoughts become reality or even close to it or like myself, did life throw you a few unexpected curve balls only to send you back to the bench to wait out another inning? I don't know why I use sports analogies considering the fact that I could care less about professional sports(I hope their ball goes flat, lol). And as for the driftwood reference you made, I tend to laugh when people say they just go with the flow because one of my favorite sayings is "only dead fish go with the flow". Anyways, I'll quit rambling now. 😁✌️

Yes! It took me some time to be comfortable in my own skin & fully embrace my intuition. I reflect back to people their own idiosyncrasies..in other words their lies..their jealousies..any negative emotions geared towards me from them..& they see that in myself or they do not like being mirrored back with their BS. Hence unless someone is true blue we do not remain friends for too long...either they start moving away from me or as what's happened as of late I went complete no contact with 90% of the so called friends I had. It took a Lil courage on my part but so worth it...toxic people will eventually drag you down over time.

@@nicky9148 Yes it's best to avoid toxic people at all cost. I did the same thing, removed all toxics from my life and even some good people because it would require me to consort with toxics. Seems one of the problems is 90% of regular non toxic people buy into malicious schemes and slander. We are usually the targets. I think the main reason we are targeted is because we connect so well with others and are naturally loved to such an extend, that when we rightfully vent at a wrong, we hurt people far more than other possibly could. This is because hatred and love are connected. The more you love someone the greater the injury. Same with us, since we love deeper, we get hurt deeper.

I can handle bad news really well, and people are normally confused as to why I show so little emotion. But I don’t mind; it doesn’t bother me. However, I react the same to good news. So if my mom gives me good news, like surprise tickets to a string quartet I really wanted to go to, it’s hard for me to act excited. My happy reaction feels forced even though I’m extremely happy on the inside. I’m just and quiet with how I react to things, so when people expect an outburst of me smiling and saying “yayy” or something, they are always confused when I just smile and am quiet. The good thing is though, that my mom is also and INFJ, so when I don’t have big reactions like that, it’s like she can read my mind. She knows I’m happy and I just wish I could find it easier to explain to other people why I react the way I do.

That I can talk a lot sometimes/rarely 3. Also, any information about me since a lot of people find me quite mysterious, like they want to know my hobbies, my interests, what I do, what am I thinking, the simplest of stuff. 4. Pretty accurate with one exception, I've never cared very much what others (i.e the general public) thinks about me. I've denied, at least to myself that I don't worry about what other people think of me, but I know I have purposely played down my intelligence my whole life. Also, I've tried to be less analytical around most people and especially within a social setting. If you have done any of these things, you've adapted to the others around you - a form of concern about what people think of you.

I’m an INFJ, but I am definitely not a private person when it comes to sharing about my life experiences and struggles. If I feel comfortable in my environment, I can even share my whole life story with a stranger, if I feel like it can help them. This is a part of the INFJ profile that I don’t fit (along with the acting serious thing). This may be due to having ADHD, along with my faith, working with children, and other life experiences.

I am an INFJ and feel exactly the same 😊! It's really easy for me to talk to anyone, actually easier and sort of more pleasant to talk to random strangers (it's not like I do it a lot, just sometimes it happens), I would even share more with them than with people I know, but are not the closest people to me, with them I can be reserved. But if I see someone not feeling well, I wil share anything, if that information makes someone feel better - like you said. I also don't act serious, mostly I act kind of goofy and harmless, many times I act like I'm not as smart as I am (I guess to have others continue to feel good about themselves). I think most people would say I'm serious, just because I like staying by myself, don't group immediately and only laugh at smart jokes. I do try to act serious in professional environments and actively try to appear calm, composed and like I know exactly what I'm doing with no doubt in my mind - which is never true, but people don't see through. (I don't have ADHD, but have had many, also hard life experience)

Generally speaking, INFJs are more likely to care about what people think of them on a moral and ethical level rsther than things like how we look or come across, or measurable accomplishments etc, which feel superficial to us. It probably applies mostly to the people closer to us, as paying too much attention to 'everyone and everything' is much too draining with our function stack. Which in part is why we have smaller social circles, and can seem (and actually be) very disinterested in most people or having a certain disconnect to society, despite our empathetic, social and curious nature. The same applies to having a very down to earth reaction to certain dramatic events in the news for example, that other types feel much stronger about and might make us seem cold and heartless at times. We care deeply or we don't care at all, anything in between takes up too much energy that's clearly not going anywhere good. Caring too much about what happened to hundreds of people during an earthquake for example simply isn't feasible for that reason. It's not the same for everyone, of course. But speaking for myself it's not so much actively caring about it or doing anything in particular to raise people's perception of me, as being extremely offended/hurt/whatever when people you consider close, that SHOULD know better in my opinion speak badly about me or treat me in a disrespectful manner that I feel goes against everything I stand for. But in the end, when that happens, it will probably result in sticking to my guns and letting go of whoever treats me that way. I do think there's some level of performance anxiety with many INFJs that's caused by our perfectionism, introversion and guardedness. We're used to figuring things out on our own by ourselves, and when we're forced to do it under prying eyes, I think we can get uncomfortable. Even though we tend to be not only quick learners, but also tend to have a knack for being able to intuitively 'do things right' pretty much straight away through only minor observation, for whatever reason we just feel we owe it to ourselves to do everything perfect from the get go with no room for mistakes.

Consider taking Vitamin D+K2 and magnesium to improve mood. Both do this (and the K2 also preserves skin quality over the years). Take at least 35 IU per pound per day of Vitamin D + K2, and slowly increase magnesium (every 4-5 days) until your poop gets too soft for your liking, then dial back a little.

Why do I only feel good when people around me is happy and when they are angry or arguing I feel out of my zone, it’s not even my fault but I feel angered and hurt by it too. like I was the one who was involved in that argument or feeling responsible because in most situations it’s very clear to see who’s wrong and right, but I just don’t have it in me to let the other know. Why is people’s feelings affecting me? But aside from that I think people notices the fact that I can put things into perspective, my advice is direct like I’m straightforward. I am very resilient.

It has to do with 'neurons'. You're neurons are sensitive enough to detect external emotional energy, and it responds accordingly. It is not a curse. You have SHARP-SENSES! REFINE THEM and TRUST THEM! Know that your senses are more accurate than most! Lastly, study 'narcissitic personality disorder' (cluster-B), and 'codependents'; these are the source of all evil!!! Narcissits are demons-in-human clothing, learn about gaslighting, and how they destroy humanity (they are also the opposite of the concept of 'humanity', they embody evil)! And codependents are weak-minded, and EXTREMELY SELF-CENTERED! are potential Judas-Iscariot, spinless traitors to the Greater-good! Unless they grow out of it, they are infact evil, and will only enable narcissits and continue to empower them in society, e.g. E. musk, and other cult leaders!

As an INFJ its more like I care to a degree, when it comes to other people opinions, I typically don't care, because most of the time their thought process on how they reached their opinions are very different on how I think of things, so I wind up taking it as a different point of view, rather than take it personal. Constructive criticism is something I don't mind, mostly because I'm aware my thought process can be out the box, and it's good to have someone ground me to reality.

Along the lines of #6 "Can handle any truth" - For starters, the truth is never hard to handle, it's lies that I can't wrap my head around, especially coming from an actual friend. That being said, even really big news, good or bad depending on your opinion of this one, like suddenly hearing your wife is pregnant while hanging with a couple friends who themselves are trying to get pregnant, unsuccessfully to this point. (They did end up having a baby less than 1 month after ours, but I digress) Just over having dinner with a couple of friends, who'd been trying to get pregnant for a little while. Randomly asked my wife if she wanted to take a pregnancy test... she did... they come out and tell me the news. At first I think they are joking and had basically no reaction... then they proved it too me and again had the same reaction, basically nothing. My friend's started freaking out and asking why I wasn't reacting, I responded with these exact word with an extremely calm demeanor, "What's there to get freaked out about? Our lives are going to be immensely different in the very near future." They didn't understand what I meant by that, my wife understood though, that's what mattered. In my mind, I wasn't going to freak out positive or negative because there was too much to going on in my head suddenly to consider being emotional at all. From that very instant, I was in my head constantly trying to figure out what we/I needed to do in order for things to work out. I know people always say, "things just seem to work out.", that's never been my life, if I'm not planning it or at very least planning or the unexpected, then things don't actually "work out" and things just go to literal shit. So, at that moment, I knew I had to step up my overall life game and having an emotional outburst in that moment wasn't going to help or change anything.

@@charlesburbank8602 You basically got what I was doing in my head, except lucky for me, I knew I could let my wife worry about the doctors appointments and stuff that wise, while I focused on exactly what I needed to do to be sure we had the money and time moving forward to raise this kid. This was 3 years ago (kid is 2.5 now) with a 2nd on the way in 3 months. And I'm going through another career industry change right now (which I did at the beginning of my relationship with my wife). One that started in my head in that moment. To be fair, it was in the same general direction I had thought/planned on going in since I was 16 or so (now nearly 40). But in that moment I started actually detailing every little step to really see that path start forming in front of me. The Covid lock-downs set me back 2 years due to not being able to take my real estate license exam during that time. As I completed all classes needed to take the exam just in time for the lock-downs ("things just seem to work out" right?! lol). Have to say, Covid/lock-downs were something I did not foresee obviously.

I would much like to have a friend or friends who would want to really get to know me and understand me, I've never known this kind of thing. I've never been close to another person

It’s so true about our being able to accept anything someone confesses. No matter how bad something is that someone confesses to me, I am extremely open about understanding their point of view. New information good or bad challenges me to consider yet another point of view. Not that I will bend my beliefs system or values, but that I will consider their particular point of view, or situation with empathy.

Now I know why Drs feel intimidated by me. So I stay away as much as possible. They're humans also and some forgot why they wanted to be a doctor.

Trying to expose yourself for personal gain is not how a true infj works. We don't wear t shirts that says infj infact we will go out of our way to just slide on in with the world at the right times in order not to be noticed. It's not fkn keto,or plant based it's not a trend or nor do we want bragging rights. We just wanna make sense of all of serious of unfortunate thoughts that eradicate our mind's. Our intuition pulls and drags into insignificant situations where we must find logic or reasoning.

I kinda wish people weren’t so eager to share the disgusting things… and since it usually comes from a known narcissist, it leaves me feeling a bit violated.
