Good. Go. We'll be here to hear the disinformation about how happier you are and how much better it is overseas. But luckily we know you just do it because you can't accept and are to useless and cowardice to fix South Africa because the truth is you're part of the cause that landed South Africa in the position it is in at the moment

One year later November 2022 loadshedding is the worst it's ever been, so unfortunately those with degrees and good small businesses are packing up and leaving. However, I also know plenty of happy South Africans who are still here and as the saying goes in SA, even if one isn't Afrikaans, 'n boer maak 'n plan! In Cape Town we have the most amazing lifestyle. Some things, like instead of a national Post Office we have Postnet or similar postal services - all work very well. And if people can't afford to install an expensive inverter or generator to keep the lights on, then a small, inexpensive inverter will still keep wifi on. The taxis have taught me, in particular, tolerance, caution and patience. African Time is a Thing...😄 I would say the worst thing is always being safety conscious. I'm always careful where and when I shop, park, drive etc...but I've never had anything bad happen to me, like my car being stolen, or a hijacking, or a mugging, so I still feel relatively safe. For me, my home will always be in SA❤

Good content. I'm a South African living in Ecuador. A very beautiful country, and obviously safer. I enjoy being able to walk even in some not-so-safe areas and not get robbed and walk at night. Even though I'm still very vigilant (even if I was in the safest country in the world I'd still be; it must be because of the South African part of me). Having travelled and experienced other countries and cultures. I came to realize that SA is really a unique place; one of the megadiverse countries in the world, the vibe, food, people, etc. Take away the political stuff (racist and ignorant government that doesn't know what it's doing), take away the crime. And you literally have one of the best countries to live in. The heat is one of the things I didn't enjoy, I suppose given the geographical position of the country, that comes with it. Basically, I learned to appreciate the different cultures, languages, and just about everything else that the country offers.

Watching this and laughing. My mzungu colleague packed and relocated to the UK in 2021 with family. 2023 I see her doing rounds in the office, small minded me thinks she is just visiting. Days pass by she is really working. Then we get to have a team lunch and were sitting at the same table, I got to ask if she is back for good. She started relating how bad life was and how terrible the weather was in the UK😅😅. Stuff heard on the internet can be interesting compared to reality.

SA is extremely hot I agree with you which is sometimes annoying to say the least. Safety it's an issue in SA especially in Gauteng. I'm glad I moved out of Gauteng couldn't stand the feeling of always being terrified walking around the CBD. We all hate load shedding don't we? we had one yesterday.

Lol I lived in Pretoria for 6 years and had to commute to work and also worked in the cbd. I enjoyed it. I never felt threatened or anything. Pretoria has a special place in my heart though.

Africans always come back home 🇿🇦. I won’t be surprised to watch your future video talking about how you miss braaing outside despite the bugs, load-shedding 🚐. Imagine having a swimming pool, a big house, a nanny, friends, family, where everyone gets you. That is what home offers 😜.

My son goes to work at 2:30 am in a taxi every workday of his life. He feels safer in the taxis, because of dense traffic, gets home also in a taxi every day by 2pm. Nothing strange. He grew up with black people in the platteland, not in the city. He is a white guy and it is normal for him
@jksinorbit3 жыл бұрын
Wait what ? I used to take taxis all throughout my youth in Jhb ( northern suburbs) and if you go to Cape Town whiteys take taxis everywhere.
@ngcebomhlongo49503 жыл бұрын
In Durban, the taxis to uMbilo/Davenport/Glenwood usually have white people. Meter taxis are expensive, the buses are unreliable so they too use taxis.
