I learn so much from you! I’m definitely trying out Acadium. This is EXACTLY what I needed. I’ve been trying to break into tech from nonprofit after getting my nonprofit job offer rescinded. But tech companies always tell me I don’t have the skills because I have never worked in their industry. I have 4 years of marketing experience in higher education, nonprofit and my own blog. Tech companies are very specific with what skills they want. I hope I can finally transition with Acadium.

Hi Angel! Love your vlogs. Got to know about Acadium from you and I am completing my first apprenticeship. But I realised that I am not getting jobs even though I have certifications and a little bit of experience. Usual response is that my education background doesn’t align. I am looking for jobs in Canada from India, if you could give some insights, that will be really helpful. Thanks

More experience is going to be what helps you land jobs! It’s a bit more difficult for you as you’re applying for jobs overseas. They will typically prioritize people who are from Canada. When hiring overseas, I find that companies will look for more experience to show that you are very competent for the job they’re hiring for. I would freelance more or try to find a related job in your home country first. That way you have something on your resume to show that you’re able to do the job required when you apply elsewhere (:

Hi! I’m venturing between nursing and careers in business. My mom thinks that getting a job in nursing is a bit easier after college, which is what she wants me to do. I also like the business career area, and I asked her opinion on it and she didn’t really give me one. She just said find a career that can get you a job after college. And idk what to do😭😭(btw I’m a HS student)

Do I necessarily need a degree in marketing before o can venture into digital marketing? I have a degree in computer science and i am interested in digital marketing I have taken some online courses on digital marketing .

Nope! I don't think so! I think if you have transferrable skills you could totally go into digital marketing. Would be good to maybe do some freelancing work/internships so you have work experience though!! Those things are more important I think when you're starting a new job.
