Tsukiji Wholesale Fish Market has moved and is now the Toyosu Wholesale Fish Market - The Tsukiji Outer Market which is calling itself the "Fish Market" gets its retail fish from the Toyosu Market. They used to be next door, but now they are not close together. It is about 30-40 minutes by public transport, 10-15 minutes by car/taxi or around 50 minutes to walk between the two markets.

DUUUUUUUUUDE!!!!! how can you have so little views and subscriders!!!!! this vid is probably one of the best i've seen about Tokyo! (most creative for sure) awesome quality and freakin awesome tips and trip ideas!!!!! definitely checkin out the robot restaurant and some of the temples you mentioned (cat cafe was already on my list lol) one question though....for a trip of one month, do you have any sort of financial recommendation? like a minimum amount to have to be sure to enjoy...never went to japan....i have no clue how to budget properly for this trip.....
@MattsTravelTips
@MattsTravelTips 9 жыл бұрын
+kaimonaJapFan Kai & Zumi Thanks so much for the comment! Glad you liked the video. In answer to your question...Japan is not the cheapest country. It can be downright expensive. But decent budget hotels can be found for around $80USD in some really awesome areas. Also...hostels are always a cheaper alternative. If you want a unique experience to save some cash, stay in a capsule hotel. They're actually pretty fun and pretty comfortable...but I can't imagine staying in capsule hotels for a month. Maybe also look into AirB&B. Food and ranges from decently inexpensive bowls of Ramen (around $10) to $200 epic sushi dinners. If you're staying in hostels, I'd plan on spending an average of $70 per day including drinks, food, and entertainment. If you're staying in hotels, that daily rate would increase. Drop me a line if you have any more questions...it's a great country! Have a blast!

wow thank you so much for that piece of advice!!! actually my buddy and i could sleep on the ground and it wouldnt make a difference to us. XD we really arent complicated when it comes to that. We take whatever comes at us and make the best of it. besides It will be in japan so we really not about the luxury, but more about spending a maximum into activities and souvenirs. I will look into hostels. Hopefully i can make reservations on time for next spring. I hear it's quite hectic because of the Sakura. But we just cant miss that. Anyway thanks again. We will for sure have an absolute blast!

For your tips N1, you should buy a suica card. It's really easier and you have 5% off
@redfish337
@redfish337 8 жыл бұрын
While you definitely should get a suica card... you should also usually get day metro day passes that work on both main subway systems. You can get 72 hour ones for 1500 yen (at the airports, ask for help to find... maybe some place in town too). Suica can fill in the time gaps, or when you have to take JR or one of the small private lines, such as going to Odaiba.

Matt you are an absolute pleasure to watch, I've just subscribed to you after not seeing you on KZbin on Wednesday and I can't get enough of you. I love your charisma and funny voiceovers for the Cats, you should make your own Cats and Dogs films as the evil cat, Tokyo is one of my top places that I would love to visit. I have friends from America who visited Tokyo not long ago and I am so so so so jealous, I would advise you to have a look at TeamLab Borderless if you go back to Tokyo, basically a place with a huge light show, it looked super amazing from what my friends had on their video.
