Most either never went to college and started tattooing straight out of high school (or before if they dropped out) like Clean, or suddenly switched from a very different career path when they discovered their passion for tattooing like Christian.

I’ve never tapped out during a session but I’ve also never put anything on my ribs or head. It’s amazing to see people sit for super painful tattoos but it would suck to go through all that to come out with a jacked up piece

Lalo’s eagle tattoo could’ve been great if it wasn’t for the flag. I think Pinz and Needlez tattoo could’ve been good if the girl agreed to do the background. However what she originally wanted wasn’t possible in 6 hours. She was better off getting the tattoo from another artist out of the show. I didn’t think Sausage’s mermaid was bad at all. I wouldn’t mind wearing that tattoo. And lastly, I thought Kyle’s pinup tattoo was good minus the weird foot.

Should of just put almost every tattoo from season 1. But, the final girl killed me. She asked for so much. It was never going to be what she wanted. You could tell she just wasn’t happy. She didn’t understand that they can’t copy exactly what is in her head.

I can agree with this. Most tattoos in season one were bad. As for Pinz and Needlez’s canvas, if she wanted a lot in a tattoo, she should have just gone to an artist in her area to get it. In Ink Master there is a time limit and it was too much in six hours.

They always complain about the canvases fighting with them and while I know that can be frustrating, at the end of the day, they have NO control over their drawings and it's mostly the artistry that sucks! Other things can be fixed and/or added later but nothing can fix a horrible drawing!

When my husband got out of boot camp he got an Eagle with an American flag as the body and the tattoo artist screwed it up badly. None of the stripes match and then the eagle is suppose to be looking to the side but he looks like a headless chicken lol.

So the take away from this is, if your artist doesnt understand hpw to do an American flag when you want a American Flag then walk away. Secondly if ypur artist says it will look odd, hear them out and let them explain. Lastly, before going to get tattoed you gotta be clear pn what you want elements wise, but be open to interpretation of those element(ex: i want a panther, in my head im thinking panther in tree, artist draws panther on ground).
