Unfortunately, if the EMS dispatcher deems the caller to be irrational/frantic, it is not illegal for them to hang on that caller. They do have a legal obligation to dial back callers that hang up on them, but other than that they are under no legal obligation to stay on the call with you. I'd read into "Warren vs. District of Columbia" for precedent.

@@titohhh420 If police or ambulance are able to get there, they most likely won't die. It's unfortunate that a few bad people have made it dangerous to do a LOT of things, including stopping to help strangers, letting strangers into the house, etc. Too often, people have been victimized because they are trying to be kind and helpful. At one time, hitchhiking and picking up hitchhikers was something people did easily. But someone would have to be crazy to do either these days. Try blaming the perpetrators who have made it a hazard to actually help strangers in need. I honestly think there should be special added punishment for crimes where good samaritans are victimized exactly because it erodes trust in strangers.

Story 5: Guy knowingly drives home, alone, in the dark during a storm and finds himself flooded and then blames law enforcement saying they "wouldn't" help him. No, they COULDN'T help because of the numerous similar calls they received and they were stretched thin. The only one to blame is the one in the driver's seat. I am glad it all worked out for him and he is safe but he needs to do some self-evaluation. If your job isn't first responder or similar emergency service and a storm is THAT bad, miss work. If you are trapped in your car as the person in the flood was, then remove the head rest and use the metal spikes to smash the window. That's what they're there for. Also never rely on anyone else to rescue you. You're your own rescuer.
@Truthosaurus Жыл бұрын
Great advice !
@anaistm174 Жыл бұрын
You're completely wrong lol. It's misinformation and a myth. The spikes under the head rest are NOT meant to break the window of a car. Also, they will NOT work as they are NOT strong enough. You need to buy a special, small, car window hammer for emergencies. If your car is going into the water, quickly open your window and remove your seat belt so you can get out. If you have none of these options, the car door will not open at first, but it will eventually. Your car door does not open when the car is partly submerged because of the water pressure against the door as there is still air in the car. If you wait for your car to fill entirely with water and for the air to be gone, the pressure will equalize and the door will once again be able to be opened, just hope you can hold your breath until it is fully submerged.

I keep discovering new channels similar to this one that are great but it’s so nice to come back to this one where the consistency and quality is always great.
