Showing frequent love to your cat(s) (petting /massaging) is the best way I have found tp prevent/treat a previously abused/neglected cat.

So sorry to hear about your Twinkie. I have been there before, it just ripp your heart out. I picked myself up and saved a life by getting a new little kitty. I was a caregiver to a colony of 22 cats. I was part of a Trap-Nueter-Release program in my area and learned and seen just about every emotion a cat can convey. This video is good, it hits on good signs of emotions a cat has.

It's been 5 years since I lost my beloved, best friend Cookie. I still mourn her. I love my beloved Shadow. She's wonderful. But I'm still in pain. I give Shadow all the love I have in me. She is very loved and happy

Ive always had cats, normally 3 plus. After some losses i found myself with just one, i thought she was fine and happy as only cat, then i recued a tiny feral kitten earlier this year, now i know she was depressed! She plays more, is more affectionate and spends less time just sleeping. She wasn’t stressed or destructive, she was depressed and bored obviously. She loves little Mr Nibbles as if she was her own kitten.

This is invaluable, everyone who cares for a cat should monitor closely, especially if someone else lives with you and has access to your cat. Cat so scared in his own home, is heartbreaking. Nobody who makes your cat scared so much is worth living with you, not even your progeny. If you MUST leave your cat alone at home, do bring another cat, so they have company, and build some polygons; vertical toys / walkways /steps / shelves / twigs / bridges. Super cheap, super easy, super cute for the room. Take them with you as often as possible outdoors, but in protected buggies, so that no dog cat get them ,and harness so that they don't run and hide if stressed.

We had a feral cat come into the house to steal kibble. He's almost a twin of one of our cats so we didn't realize it until we noticed his tail is only an inch long. He was very depressed. After a while he realized we weren't chasing him and he started to remain. Unlike the other four cats, he empties the bowl. He stopped running out when we entered a room. Finally I started picking him up and petting him. He's a happy cat now.

@Faith63423 I have a Mr. Kitty too! The orange female is Pumpkin. They are strays that I made homes for in my back yard and I gave them Catnip for the first time the other day and now I can't feed them without them begging me for more! Kitties are Awesome.

My rescue Annie was ok with men, more wary around women, and it took me 8 years! to get her to stop being head shy. I think some woman hit her. Another cat l had was terrified of anyone in a cap, otherwise very easygoing. My sympathy to all who have recently lost a fur friend. ❤️

Well, thanks. She was found by a dumpster in February, trying to lick and dig up frozen garbage. She ran-zoomies-ALL the time. That took a long time to train out of her, too. But...l grew up on a farm with cats. She's my 6th rescue cat. Right now, she's sleeping on "her" rocker (l bought for my lower back) on 2 thermal cushions. Spoiled? Very! 🤣🐱❤

Only time my kittie would pee on my clothes was during her 6 first months with me. Just before Christmas her first 6 months with me in 2020. I had to work every day the last week for long hours. She made her point one of the last days when she peed on my change of clothes. That's the only time she has done this.

Small amounts of coconut oil once or twice a day can help hair balls. A tiny amount of ginger powder on their food or in their water helps eliminate vomiting.

I've a kitty door.. mine stay out in the garden mostly. One kitty Tois causing me great concern..I'm unable to catch him to get to the vet..He's so beautiful He's constantly alarmed 😮 but does not stray..none of my kitties stray.. I did buy a puppy though and lockdown did not do us any favours. I'm really concerned

I’m definitely neurotic, and I think my cat is, too. But he loves cuddles and hanging out beside me. We just click. He plays and sleeps normally. So, while I agree to watch for cats not being happy, don’t fret just because you’re neurotic . Knowing his likes go a long way to a tight bond..

I'd call myself neurotic as well, yet my cat still chooses to be with me. What I can't adequately address are his past life memories, believe it or not. Working with an animal communicator revealed some major issues from his past which have resulted in moodiness, "fasting" like spells, & overgrooming (made worse by seasonal allergies). One of his memories actually concerned a life he shared with me. Talking about it with the communicator always brings improvement but, it seems as he has aged, a new issue shortly takes the old one's place. I just keep trying to support him with love & giving him space when he wants it. The vet didn't find anything wrong with him when he was seen.

This might be helpful if you only had one cat. I have many living on a farm where cats are dumped, it isn't so easy to make them all happy, They have been all TNR and have a wonderful big catio to keep them safe with a lot of catnip growing in their yard. They have a quarter of an acre with two barns & always access to come into my house. Cats Rule. LOL

I feed my cats better than I feed myself tbf. Always cooked and raw chicken..tuna ..salmon.. cooked pork.. kibble available 24/7 fresh water 24/7. As soon as my Tommy sees me he runs away.. I think he hates me because I bathed him 😢

Cats don't want to cuddle and get touched all the time. I make her miss my attention. I WANT her to understand when I'm upset with her. She knows. She understands what I want. I understand what she wants. She invented our fetch game. We play fight everyday. My arms are scarred up. She's biting lightly and not using her claws fully. She's a good cat.

Try to get dry kibble out of their diet as much as financially possible. Feed them chicken hearts (taurine amino acid for heart / eyes) daily.

@@jessicaalexander8999 Yes. Many of the ideas about cats that are seen as 'old school wisdom' have been proven false, including the idea that they "Don't need attention". It IS true that they can be hard to read if you don't know what to look for and sometimes even if you do. In my family, our cats have pretty much always been rescues, so I've grown up accustomed to cats having a variety of quirks.
