At first, they are a genuine boss, since you're so weak, but by the mid to late game, you can kill them in, like, 30 seconds, max...

Just one thing I wanted to point out, the Windwalker Minigame is not longer as much of an issue for speed runners. People have made discoveries on the RNG implemented in the game and there is now a tool that helps winning the game in (as far as I remember) two tries. The tool is allowed in official speed runs as it's not automatic, the runner has to manually feed it their attempts.

I have an idea! 10 Difficult Achievements That Could Be Cheesed "Cheesed," in this context, means "cheaply earned:" as in, achievements/trophies that would normally be hard to earn, but there's an easy way to get them. The "Uber Hero" achievements in Wolfenstein: The New Order/The Old Blood are a prime example, since you could complete the game on any difficulty, then use chapter select to go straight to the last level on "Uber," allowing you to get the achievement for this one level instead of the whole game!

There was one like this in Persona 5 too, although it wasnt nearly as infuriating: you'd have to take a specific course of action when one of your party members were taken hostage, if that, but the catch is that this barely even happens once per playthrough, so if you do the wrong thing during the negotiation, you could pretty much kiss that trophy goodbye for that specific run

Just about all of those achievements have some form of skill involved alongside the blessing or curse of the dice, but there's one that's not only subject to the powers of RNGsus, but subject to availability as well. In Phantasy Star Online 2, there's an achievement called "SUPER EXCITING!!" and it involves getting 60 points on a dartboard. Here's the thing, the dartboard is a decor item sold in the shop for 5,000 Fun Points. It's not locked behind a paywall of premium currency, but you have to place it in your room in order to "play", which is literally standing in front of the thing and hoping it randomly gives it to you. That's it, just pressing the button, wait through the emote, and try try again and again until you eventually get it. Your patience will eventually be rewarded, but the odds of landing 50 bullseyes in a day are better than hitting a single triple 20, making the slog extremely tedious and downright boring. Sure you can level up and boost your stats, but you can't aim, you only get one shot per play, missing is always a possibility, and you'll be even more likely to get the bull than that little space to the north. You only get 35 points to your gamerscore for this secret achievement, but at least you're not paying real money for the genuine waste of time, right? Right? Yeah, this one blows.

For Returnal, I cannot get the sunface fragment to appear and I fully explore the first biome. I see some people saying it's RNG while others say it always spawns. I fully explore the first biome (even the room where it's supposed to be), and have not found it.

How about a list of achievements/trophies that will definitely be the last one you earned (not including platinums). I nominate Proficient from Metal Gear Survive for maxing all skills for every class. I was less than halfway to getting it by the time I got every other trophy in the game. To top it off it uses the same resource as what’s used to upgrade your gear as well so I was running around with partially upgraded gear to level up classes I’ll never use for far too long (was still kitted out so it was manageable). Glad I got it tho as I got to meet some great people on the way

not an achievement exactly, but an item in the vein of the windwaker entry, three words, Lulu's ultimate weapon. Yes, a special weapon you can get for lulu in final fantasy x. a weapon that requires you to dodge literal lightning to get. not just dodge a lightning bolt, no, dodge 200 of them. in a row. without leaving the area. when they occur is random. the time between them can be a few seconds to almost instantaneous. you'll get a flash on screen then have to QUICKLY hit a button to dodge. and if you hit the button too much (like say, trying to spam it), the game will literally hit you with an undodgeable bolt on purpose as punishment, meaning you have to start all over.

I also had It's All In The Reflexes glitch on me as back in the 360 days, Microsoft had a very annoying problem with achievements: if the Xbox website hadn't been updated with the achievements, and you unlocked one...it didn't count. you had to recover your account and redo them. This happened to me with the Knives Chau DLC...and because the counter for how many times you caught thrown items as Knives continued that one achievement refused to re-unlock.

I actually know one that killed my desire to get the Platinum Trophy on Final Fantasy X Remaster. The Chocobo Master (I think it is called that or something similar) is gotten by winning the Requiem Temple Race and grabbing all five chests in the process. There is a perfect path to take, and the problem is? Even if you do it perfectly, there is no guarantee you will actually still win. Why? Because the game uses RNG to determine the opposing wild Chocobo's time. You can do it perfectly, and still lose because the game didn't roll a slow enough time for the opponent. 3 hours I spent doing the perfect path, just to lose every time.

Here's one - Materia Overlord for _Final Fantasy VII._ The Materia Overlord achievement can only be earned if you master every materia in the game. The materia "Enemy Skill" can only be mastered if you get every single enemy skill on a single copy of the Enemy Skill materia. Sounds pretty simple, right? Well, there are TWENTY-FOUR enemy skills to master, some of them are used by bosses or are in areas you can't get back to, and if you don't get the skill when you go there, you'll have to do it on another playthrough. Most problematic of them all, however is the enemy skill Pandora's Box, used by only one enemy in the game, near the very end of the game, the Dragon Zombie. But here's the catch - Pandora's Box will only be used _ONCE PER SAVE FILE._ If something goes wrong, you're out of luck. So if Dragon Zombie attempts to use Panora's Box but is out of MP when it tries, too bad, you have to try to master Enemy Skill on your next playthrough. If you forgot to equip Enemy Skill and Dragon Zombie uses Pandora's Box, you're out of luck. If Pandora's Box fails for any reason, you're done, try again on your next playthrough - and remember, Dragon Zombie appears at the very bottom of the Northern Crater, right before you fight Jenova SYNTHESIS, the fight immediately prior to Sephiroth. This is the last area you can possibly encounter random fights, and if you don't get Pandora's Box, you have to go ALL THE WAY through the game to try again.

How do you have a Gaming Pantheon joke and say "The God of RNG" instead of saying "RNGsus?" 🤣 Also, how do you not include "Ethan Never Dies" from RE7? That means playing through Ethan Must Die mode, which is stuck on the hardest difficulty, and you start with only a knife so you can break boxes and get randomly generated items. You may get a gun with no bullets, you may get a healing item, or you may get a bomb that will blow your ass up ending your run. Of course, it drops an angel statue that will hold all of your items, and if you're lucky enough to make it BACK to that statue, you will get an item. Yes. AN item. You randomly get one item from your last inventory. If you had a shotgun, 3 healing items, and some shotgun ammo, you COULD get the shotgun, but you could also get only the ammo with no gun. It's incredibly bullshit.

I'm a long time believer of the one true RNGOD. Played Warframe for a time, and there there's a weapon mod that was straight up broken. You could buy from other players yes, but hella expensive. So we would farm it. This mod had a 0,5% chance of dropping from a single kind of enemy that would spawn in a few maps.. and there I spent some easy 24+h farming. Aka: camping, spamming a specific set of skills that would ramp up the kills, buffs and all.. I think I got 3 overall

Can't remember what game it is, but it has an achievement that is literally dependent on RNG. It has a random chance of unlocking, can't remember the chance but yeah, it's possible you might never get it from RNG. I managed to get it from RNG being nice, but I can only imagine the agony of trying to get it without cheating. Edit: Just plain lucky from Cookie Clicker. 1 in 500,000 chance of unlocking it every second. One of the game's 'Shadow Achievements'

RNG isn't the top of the pantheon of gaming. RNG is the hellish demonic malicious trickster that flips you off, and stares in shock when you actually win that rare prize. RNG is why we need a mechanic like "Bad Luck Insurance" in ALL RNG related bullshit! WoW is getting better, but sadly, the lack of bad-luck insurance on things like mounts makes mount runs annoying. And it makes a number of considerably rare things a pain in the ass. If you've looked for the mount Invincible, or Midnight, you know how much of a cuckold RNG is. Again, RNG is the malicious cuckold who makes the devil himself glare with disgust! RNG makes Loki glare with unrivaled fury at it's cruelty! RNG makes even the pettiness of Hera seem like a tolerable minor annoyance even when Hera is at her most malicious and petty! It's because of the bullshit that is RNG is why video games need bad luck insurance mechanics that increase the chance of that one thing you've been grinding for to happen!

Fallout Shelter, you could set your system date to something way in the past and then advance the clock to unlock a free lunchbox to get the achievement. When I did it, thanks to the RNG, I had to simulate TEN YEARS of getting lunchboxes before I was eventually gifted 20 legendary vault dwellers. If the prices I just looked up are correct, that would've been well over $250 in "micro" transactions. Ridiculous either way you slice it.

He's one that should be on here. The Cat Call achievement/trophy from Injustice 2. You have to beat Cheetah with Catwoman with the last hit being the Cat Call ability. Cat Call however can only unlocked via random in game Gold and upwards lootboxes. Its an Ability so it's the rarest thing to unlock for a character. There's 30 characters all with 100+ cosmetic items each and numerous other unlocks. You've literally got a random 1 in however many thousands chance to even unlock the fucking move.

You needed to jump online, get into a playlist, beat everyone else in a series of 5 races and get the points necessary to end up first on the whole session, after that, you'd earn a wheelspin that would award you a car, a cosmetic item, an avatar, a background playercard or the evasive gold trophy reward, that took so much effort, specially with how laggy the online of that game is, according to PSNProfiles, that platinum was my rarest trophy until I got Fall Guys a week ago.

I have every trophy on Scott Pilgrim on both PS3 and PS4 and never had an issue. We Three Kings from The Four Kings Casino and Slots is the worst. It is a literal slot machine that, without spending real money, gets one spin per day. Due to my apparent need to 100% the game I have now spun it nearly every day for at least 3 years. With the occasional bonus spins I have easily spun it 2000 times and have only gotten close once.
