She went to the door and said, “We have Carolers!” There were 10-15 women going door-to-door singing Christmas carols here in Newell. I haven’t seen that since I was a kid. I know in Central Texas it's the same. Winter is about 9 months long and I may have the heat on anywhere from 0-20 days a year. The AC is probably on 320+ days a year. I've had the AC on as late as December and as early as late January because the cedar pollen is at the worst in the winter and I can't open a window. In the winter, I often use an infrared heater to heat the room(s) I'm in instead of heating the entire place.

Speaking of Christmas in the Villages … My wife & I were eating dinner Monday night and the doorbell rang. She answers the door and shouts, “We have Carolers!” A group of 10-15 ladies were going door to door in Newell singing Christmas Carols 🎶🎄 When they finished, they handed us a small bag of Christmas treats. It was so cool … I haven’t seen that since I was a kid … only in the Villages ☺️

Our heat was turned on a couple of weeks ago, I am on blood thinners so I get cold. Since the kids have left we put out a ceramic Christmas tree that my Grandma made, it is only about 20” tall. Love that country fried steak and country milk gravy. Camp Villages.

When I first saw the frog on Amy's hat, I thought it was a cute little pin. I've seen a lot of them on my screen door. They are so cute! I solved the scramble yay! There is nothing in the world that is any where near snobbish about you two! Pay that no attention! The Villages gives a lot to charities! That's one of the reasons I love living here. There are many opportunities to volunteer for numerous charitable organizations here in The Villages. Linda, Mom is a retired teacher as well, and whenever she went out with the girls after work she would ALWAYS bring home half her dinner for Daddy. Took me all day, was very hard on the hands. I don’t buy pre-lit trees as a rule, but this one I bought a few years earlier at Kmart 90% off. Hi Jerry and Linda, did you say you use a bungee to hold your garage door open? We replaced the door stop with a magnetic one. It holds the door open. You can get them at Home Depot. Thank you Christine! We actually bought a magnetic stop and tried it. There is a bookshelf on the wall that keeps the door from opening far enough for the magnet to reach. That is really the best idea though so I will have to adjust some things to make it work.

I have found that heat is more expensive than a/c when you have high ceilings. Fortunately, we don’t have to use heat very often and would never have a month when we needed the heat on for the whole month.

Prayers for your son in Israel. I have visions (delusions???) of sitting out in the birdcage surrounding my pool, reading the Daily Sun every morning. I will use your link every time I shop on Amazon, which is quite often, LOL. We've been to several tribute shows and they always do such a great job. I live on TV website, the one feature that actually IS new is TURNKEY, which was not there previously, and which I have requested. ROOM FOR POOL would be another good one. I've been searching by location for years. To Danny's Q, I would love it if you could point me toward your video on the upgrades you recommend for a golf cart. When I lived in Palm Beach, my house didn't have heat in the upstairs, which I found odd. But coming from Boston, I realized it's the equivalent to not all houses up north having a/c. Amy's tree frog is exactly the reason I don't want garage laundry - I'd be paranoid that a snake would slither out from under the machines while I was doing laundry. He'll come home for Spam, Linda, not tuna fish, LOL. Maybe some KFC, if you have it in the house. You should review the restaurant at Lopez - I've heard GREAT THINGS, but have never been. I love the color of your walls, I know it came with the house, but do you happen to know the color? I love the yeasty rolls at TR. I'm with Linda, I love a ribeye! Love a country fried steak also, but ribeye is my preferred cut. That VPO show sounds really good. I'm just dying to move there. My husband wants to wait until he's retired from The Cleveland Clinic, which is understandable. You are the opposite of snobs! I would love to bump into you next time we're down.

I loved the segment about having an ice rink in or near the Villages. I've spent many years both playing hockey and coaching hockey in the Northeast and yes here in Florida. I doubt seriously if any Villager would be interested in supporting an ice rink once they were informed of the cost to build and maintain the facility. Imagine keeping a huge, open barn cooled to around 60 degrees with humidity around 30 percent year round including June, July, and August where our temperatures hoover in the mid to upper 90's with 100 percent humidity. The US National Ice Rink Association estimates the cost of electricity for refrigeration of the playing surface to be thousands per month alone. Other monthly costs include land purchase/lease, equipment purchase/maintenance, liability insurance, salaries/wages, rental equipment, and a variety of other expenses that would be passed on the community. Ice time costs make golf look like a bargain!!

my wife and I live in a 55 and over community here in California and one of my neighbors and I will go around on our street and put up lights for free we have eight people that we help and our street is lit up during xmas , I like living here but I never thought about the women being single here , just maybe if I was in my twenties or thirties but at my age i'm done after my wife LOL . on our street we will have parties to watch sporting play off and birthdays some take us a day or two to recuperate

So I recently heard that if you have a loofah on your vehicle, it means your a swinger. Does anyone there randomly put loofah on cars? Seems like a hilarious prank.
