We all remember Gene Wilder for his unforgettable roles in "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory" and "Young Frankenstein." But what really happened behind the scenes of his legendary career? Why did Gene's wife remain silent for so long after his passing? And what revelations does she finally share about their life together? The answers to these questions will reveal a side of Gene Wilder that the public has never seen before.

I am not here to feed into any negativity here. He was brilliant at what he loved and I remember after Gilda passed he went on television to make a public plea for women to not ignore certain symptoms and to take their health where ovarian cancer was concerned very seriously. He wanted to save others from going through the pain that he and his wife Gilda had . He great guy Remember him with lots of love and kindness

😂Btw the documentary wasn't anything bad. 😅It was sweet and sad actually. 😢I cried! He was a kind man even to his ex wives and current one who was madly in love with Gene Wilder; the JUMP 🦘 to conclusions is insane on this video.

Although Gene Wilder wanted the role of the Waco Kid in Blazing Saddles, Mel Brooks considered him to be too young for the role and cast Gig Young instead. Young, however, became ill during filming and Brooks then re-considered Wilder to replace him, re-shooting the scenes previously made with Young. It turned out to be a good casting decision.

Many years ago now, in the early 70's I was working in London near Fenwicks. Unlike nowadays when it would be frowned upon, we used to go en-masse to a wine bar for lunch. To get there, we would go through a little public garden with seats, shrubs, trees, and flowers. This particular day was bright, warm and sunny, I think, although it was a long time ago. There were 2 figures on a seat and the male friends in front of me just walked by them whilst us dolly birds brought up the rear. They caught my attention because although sitting next to each other, they were facing away from each other, not talking, as thought they had just quarrelled. The woman was very pretty, dark hair cut in that Mary Quant style. She looked vaguely familiar, but I couldn’t place her and still can't. As I passed by, the man looked up at me and I recognised him immediately. It was Gene Wilder. I was really surprised but I knew it was him. I found out later he was over in England. I have to say. He had the most beautiful eyes. The bluest blue I had ever seen then or since. The pictures and films do not lie. they really were startling! I would love to know who the woman was, though. It looked like a lovers tiff to me, and they both looked very stressed.

I can remember taking my little brothers and sisters to see Willy Wonka in the chocolate factory, and how much they loved it. If someone doesn’t understand his history very well, he was married to Gilda until Gilda died of ovarian cancer. I remember this Saturday night that she did Every member of SNL had streaks of grief, that not even the best make up could take away. Steve Martin was the guest host, and they opened with a dance routine that Gilda and Steve did together although it is extremely funny that night, we all cried. Gene loved Gilda very very much. I truly believe if Gilda had not died, they would’ve stayed together until he passed away. It’s always easy to pick at people when they’re not here to defend themselves someone else written in the comments I bet she had no trouble taking his money I agree with that comment. Those are the worst type of people they slam the person who they were with, but don’t have any particular guilt in picking their pocket. He made great movies. He was a lot of fun and he deeply loved Gilda. Maybe the wife number three was guilty of jealousy, envy and greed.

Documentaries have a way of portraying a narrative instead of facts. As a matter of fact, 68% of documentaries are not always factual but interpretation of the author. I have a problem with the part of Genre being abused because he was the only Jewish student in his acting class in California. Even if Gene claimed this, it doesn’t mean it was true. Maybe just keep to the facts.
