Puns in any foreign language won't make sense to a nonspeaker. But you can still laugh along, especially if you've ever heard a Dad joke in your own language. Jin's seriousness followed by his laugh, his audience groaning- that's almost universal! IMHO, hearing the explanation of the wordplay doesn't actually make the joke that much funnier. It's the situation that's funny. I don't understand more than 10 words of Korean, but I still get hysterical when Jin delivers one of his masterpieces.

A lot of these clips are from RunBTS episodes. Basically their own game show where they compete against each other. The episodes are short 10-ish minutes. Having the additional context makes it even funnier. 💜

If I’m not mistaken, cows in Korean are “so”. A song that cows sing sounds like “so-song” in Korean which phonetically is equal to Korean “sosong” (lawsuit). English equivalent would be like “ You ever wonder what lawyers wear to work? Lawsuits.”

I promise you will Never understand a Jin dad joke because they are puns on Korean words. The pun can't be translated! So you're silly thinking you got that first joke. My opinion. These are situational funny moments. You have to see the whole thing to really really laugh. For example. JK and the boys did a cooking show. JK was assigned to cook the sweet potatoes and put a glaze on top. To you it might have just seemed it was a fake plate of food it wasn't. JK didn't know they were stuck. So when he found out they were stuck without the other guys knowing...that was really funny. But you didn't see that. So when it was time to show everyone what he cooked he surprised them by turning it upside down. They thought it was hilarious. He made non edible sweet potatoes. Most of those clips are from their variety show "RunBTS". You either had to be there or watch the whole thing to really laugh hysterically or even get it. There were bits in #2 that were funny too. But I promise so much more funnier when you get to see the whole thing. The episode where Suga plays the female foreign exchange student is so funny. They were laughing at Suga because he had to play a girl. So anyway, we got to see your precious daughter laugh and smile. So it was worth that. Note. One of their last new songs they performed for Army was also named "RunBTS". But it wasn't named after the TV show. There is also a "Run" MV and song. Again. Not related. Question. Why don't you watch "RunBTS" BTS episodes with your daughter every week? They are wholesome and family friendly. Then you could know the Big Picture why those clips were funny...in context. So much better that way. 100% better. But no matter. Jin's dad jokes will Never make any sense to you until you learn Korean. Thanks for the reaction.

The cow joke explained: "What is it called when a cow sings?" Answer: "It's a lawsuit." First you need to know that the word for "cow" (소) is pronounced "So" and "Song" is just the english word for song. BUT... when you put the sounds together you get the word "sosong" (소송) which means "lawsuit," but as a pun it could also be "cow song". So it's a very bad dad-joke pun, and they are one reason we love Jin!

People often remark about how Suga doesn't show fear when the other guys do.... but they forget how Suga was living before they debuted. I always say that Suga is crunchy on the outside but warm and gooey on the inside. Suga is tough on the outside because he has had to be. The other guys had been living at home (well Jin was in college but supported by his parents) with relatively normal lives. But with Suga...before getting signed by BigHit he was practically living on the streets back home. That's a dangerous thing for a teen. His parents didn't support his underground music plans. So he moved from home. He and some others had a small, leaky basement room they used as a studio for recording. It had recording equipment and a mattress they put on the floor. Most nights they were out handing out fliers or performing. Often they wouldn't get paid in money but were given concert tickets. If they did get paid it was very little. So Suga took odd jobs such as delivering food. Living like that in a city... you learn not to show fear or someone bigger and stronger is going to target you and take what you have.... and you better at least act like you are going to fight back or they might take more than your money. Even once he was signed with BigHit his parents couldn't help him financially. He was having to decide whether to get the $2 noodles and walk home (again... not so safe alone on the streets)... or $1 noodles and be able to take the bus. AND he was also going to college. So he still did work like delivering food on a motorbike but hid it from everyone. This is when he was in the accident that damaged his shoulder happened. When he opened his eyes after the collision he said he saw the tire of the car right in front of his face. He was so scared he didn't even realize his shoulder was dislocated. He kept the accident from even his bandmates as he didn't want to lose his trainee spot for working a second job. Eventually he had to tell them something so he told them he had fallen down the stairs. Eventually he came clean to PD Bang that his family was really struggling due to his college debt. PD Bang said he should have told him sooner and paid it for him. Since then Suga has done things for people quietly because he remembers what that is like. He sometimes buys fried chicken and drops it by the practice room for the trainee/junior groups. People that deliver food to him have remarked that he always tells them to take their time especially if it is raining.

@@g100-w6j I have been ARMY since 2014 and listened to countless interviews and read them as well. I do not spread misinformation. I admire Yoongi more than just about anyone in the world... in part because of the hardships he has been through. And what I wrote here is not the worst of it. I said "practically".. not that he was literally on the street... and that was referring to before he went to Seoul but after he had left home. His family was of moderate means as they ran a small to medium business but they did not financially support him in his dream to be a musician... and then later they DID struggle financially for a while because of college costs. He has told the story HIMSELF how he and his friends had to live and suffered while trying to survive in the underground music scene. It's WHY he finally decided to go the path of being an Idol because he saw rappers older than him that were still living that way. As a trainee he of course lived in the dorm but he struggling financially then as well. What part did I get wrong? If you can show me then I will gladly change it and apologize. At the time when he was doing underground rap he was living in the studio. He didn't have a home. And what exactly is wrong with it? He did what he needed to do in order to survive. It made him strong but it also caused him hurt. It's why he cares so much but often doesn't show it. He does things quietly for people. He gets along with his family now. But back then they told him he would ruin the family if he went into music. I didn't even get into the mental health issues that he has discussed because that didn't have to do with why he puts on a brave face when others may be scared. I have to go to work now....
