To everyone here who is of my age/era (43), I do not know you, you do not know me, we have never met, we never even knew each other existed, yet at the same time every day when arriving home from school, each and every one of us sat in front of our mum & dads televisions and together we sang along in unison, millions of us, word for word, as though we could hear each other sing, and then watched our favourite cartoons. In a world now filled with differences, fighting, opinions and divisions as adults, it was at this time a long time ago when our innocence was so pure, everyday, that we all came together and embraced the most harmless and joyous things that made us happy and content. The reason why we all feel such an emotional nostalgia with these things, is because we remember who we were at this time in our lives, and deep down we long to return to feeling so happy at something so small yet deep in our hearts and minds, meant so much.

Nicely said mate. The world was very different back then and it's sad that we can never feel that again although seeing something like this partly opens the window back to that time. Yeah...my sister and I used to sing it like you described, sharing vocals (She would do Fogg and Romy, I would do Rigodon and Tico) then together for the grand chorus. The thing I enjoyed most about this show was that it partly made a five or six year old me more aware of the world and it's many cultures. By that time I had only seen the UK and India (family are from India but I was born and raised in England) so it was as much educational as it was entertaining.

And sing along they did, in 1988 I believe when CBBC's Andy Crane declared the final episode 'National Willy Fogg Day' and mailed out song sheets so an entire nation of kids could join in. Willy Fogg was awesome. And the theme tune is probably the greatest of the 80s cartoon intros, though run pretty close by the one from 'Dogtanian' - another BRB production. Amazingly they're still animating cartoons 30 years on - and there's some interesting stuff about both shows on their website.

Compare with the original version in Spanish and you will see that musically it is much simpler than the English one. But it was also sung in Spanish by one of the most renowned choral groups in Spain and that makes the difference. Musically there is no possible comparison. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYuuk3yjgZeImcU Although I understand that this version brings back more memories for English speakers.
