It was Mayday holiday when hotel prices were a bit inflated. Otherwise $80 price tag should have got you a much better room: a bigger fridge, a personal locker, the toilet should be fully automatic, should have another giant "rainforest" showerhead on the ceiling, larger glass windows, curtains should be fully automated, the window view should be better, etc... Anyway, that hotel price must include a very good morning breakfast buffet.

Dear Luke and Naomi, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to both of you. As foreign KZbinrs traveling through China, your efforts to showcase the true essence of China to the world through your videos are immensely appreciated. It's disheartening that Western media often misrepresents China, but your firsthand experiences and honest portrayals are helping to correct these misconceptions. As a Chinese person who has lived and worked in Australia for many years, I deeply understand the sentiment of "loving your country even more when you're abroad." Your journey and the stories you share are invaluable, offering a fresh and genuine perspective on China. I hope you continue to enjoy the rest of your travels and keep revealing the real China to your audience. If you encounter any difficulties, please feel free to reach out to us. I'm sure you already have a significant following of Chinese fans who will always be there to support you. Wishing you both an incredible journey ahead! Regards Benji

Chinese is the language most widely spoken in the world, with over 1.6 billion speakers. Therefore, most people in China do not need to learn foreign languages. China has not colonized any other country for 5000 years, hence the language has not gained widespread popularity. It is the official language of China and is extensively utilized in Singapore, Malaysia, and other Chinese communities. Nowadays, numerous countries have started promoting Chinese as a second language in their primary and secondary schools.

I am from Yining, Xinjiang Province, China. I used to live in Korla, perhaps better known as Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang. I would say that my hometown is no different from most cities except for the special nationality and culture. This, of course, is perfectly normal for China itself. For example: North and South culture, East and West culture, 56 different ethnic cultures and so on. In addition, our policies attach importance to national equality and national unity, so that different cultures are never erased. Instead, we look forward to a world where tolerance and diversity coexist. As for the ban on speaking your mother tongue is wrong, China is a vast country with many dialects, both in Xinjiang and the mainland, people tend to receive modern Chinese education and advocate speaking Mandarin for communication. Even if you do not know Mandarin, we will respect each other, just as you will receive warm hospitality in our country. In my primary and secondary schools, I gained many minority friends, we grew up together, live together, they also love our country. BTW, some herdsmen still retain their faith, they love the nomadic life, they can overcome the difficulties of ordinary people's eyes to live on the top of the mountains, some herdsmen have also been urbanized, living in nearby counties and towns, occasionally they will accept the help of tourism, farming has long been produced by big machines, relatively speaking, Our country also has a lot of preferential policies for ethnic minorities. For example, considering the language and cultural differences, they can enjoy unconditional bonus points due to their ethnic identity in the most rigorous examination in China, the college entrance examination, and enter a good university with a relatively low score. In addition, they also enjoy benefits in terms of employment policy. Anyway, we are experiencing joys and sorrows just like any human being in the world.

During these times, popular tourist destinations become extremely crowded, and hotels often increase their prices significantly, just like what you experienced. To ensure a more enjoyable and cost-effective experience, consider traveling during off-peak periods. I came from Chengdu and have lived in NYC for 30 years. I felt so home sick every time I watched your vlog in Chengdu and Chongqing. Even though I do think China still has a lot of problems to fix, especially from the political system perspective, but undoubtedly this country has made massive progress in the past 40 years after adopting Deng Xiaoping's open-door policy in mid-80's. This means a lot to the world since China has a population of 1.4 billion and it is a great contribution to the world peace and prosperity. I think objectively reporting what have happened on that land is quite important to the world. That is what is currently missing in the western media. Thank you so much Naomi and Luke for your candid lens and honest opinion on China. It is not easy yet quite meaningful work, and meantime it is so enjoyable to a lot audience around the world.👍👍👍❤❤❤
Please drop your stereotype. Your former country is not what it was 30 years ago. As a former Chinese, you aren't qualified to talk about China because you left China 30 years ago. Right now, it is USA which has a lot of problems to fix, especially from the political system perspective. China has made unprecedented transformations just because of its sound political system. It's ridiculous that some former Chinese pretend to know about present China. China has been doing enough to make a great contribution to the world peace and prosperity. On the country, it's your present country USA that has been harming the world peace and prosperity. Considering its support of Israel's genocide, how dare you pretend to speak for us? As an American says, now that you're an American, please focus on your own shit rather than others'.
cant you just leave the political things alone ? its just a traveling video dude😅i living in chengdu and i dont find anything wrong or bad about the political
For transaction fee, I would recommend you to use your foreign credit card directly. Most of the upscale hotel will support foreign credit cards without additional charge. In China, the majority of people in their forties and fifties typically cannot speak English. Those in their twenties and thirties can communicate in basic English, as it was a mandatory subject in middle school, but as they age and use it less frequently, they tend to forget it. Teenagers are likely capable of understanding basic English conversations, provided that it is spoken slowly. The primary reason young people feel hesitant speaking English is due to a lack of confidence in their accents.
