The Steve's Ice Cream commercial is using the theme music from WCPX in Orlando's news. Also K92FM in Orlando used the same commercial WYNY used

The music that was used in the commercial for Steve's Ice Cream was fantastic! Also ... the commercial for the country music stations is great! They almost never play get country music like that anymore these days.

The music in that spot is a library track produced by Network Music called "Determination". The composer is Larry Owens (between Owens and Craig Palmer; a lot of the really great background music from the 1980s was composed by those two).

The Value Rent-A-Car spot also used a Craig Palmer piece, "Love On the Run." Yeah, if you ask me the *real* soundtrack of the 80s came from Network Music.

I'm from the New York viewing area and I've NEVER heard of Steve's, so you're not alone. But I know much about radio in the area back in the days. WYNY only lasted about a year on 97.1, then that station became the now famous HOT 97, and WYNY took its name and format to 103.5 until 1996 when WKTU signed back on the air after a roughly 11 year absence. After that, WYNY went to 107.1 where it floundered and died a rather nasty death. New York was never kind to country radio!

DanZero77 that is, until nash came along. yes, a big radio fan here. However, i do remember WYNY pre-country format, (Adult contemporary) era. not from new york, but via airchecks. big thing about WYNY in both cases, it spawned a lot of jingle packages, some of which are still used.

The pazaz color wash was horrible! It stained the part in my hair and was just a bright bright red. I was around 12 years old & my Mother was so angry at me for doing it. I remember her yelling, her main concern was that I had to carry the candles in church the next day & it looked so crazy.

Pazzaz!! I looooved that stuff! And the mousse they had, too, were awesome. I loved the purple one the best. But they were to be used only during the summer since I went to Catholic school and colored hair was a no-no, especially in purple lol

Life is heavy, deep worldly issues...Jordache Basics are well, simply basic. Very odd ad for denim, I wasn't too sure wth it was all about at first. I don't remember this from when I was younger, but do remember the Pazzaz from Clairol. Besides the classic Bugle Boy jeans commercial, there is one amusing ad that stands out in my mind...think it was for Levi's 501?? An old southern man describing what a rhubarb is at a diner after some college kid questions the waitress it. His friend answers, "itsa vechtible" with an attitude...pretty funny!

Angels 88/89..so they tried reviving Charlie's Angels back then too(before finally succeeding in the 2000s with the overrated films and the godawful ABC reboot a few years back) Villa Rides-kind of a bad idea to be bragging before a firing squad lol

KC WInkler who was a prize model on the Wink Martindale version of High Rollers tried out for the aborted Charlie's Angels revival. Regis' NYC local talk show went national about six months after this commercial.
