I would stake my reputation that that WAS Seth Green! He did commercials when he was a kid & he'd be the right age. They still show ads for treatment centers during kid's shows today! They also show ads for those job training schools... as if to say 'the only people watching TV right now are kids & the unemployed'!

The ad for the car dealership aired during the Brady Bunch later on in the afternoon.

I had a SkyBall back then! I loved it. My friends and I would spend HOURS outside playing this! I wish they still made those today! I wonder if kids today would get into that, no, their to warped in vedio games systems and sitting in front of the tv! God forbid kids roll around chasing a ball outside today. They might actually have to be active. LOL! Anyways happy 50th eposode! Hope to see many more!

Congratulations on the 50th episode of the best thing on the internet. Let's celebrate by launching some of those Jammin' Jets. Why didn't I get one of these? I've never even seen one. Seriously, I'm turning off the computer and I'm going to find me some goddamn Jammin' Jets.

0:00--Kellogg's has promoted their brand of Raisin Bran as having "two scoops" for as long as I can remember, but I distinctly recall "two bigger scoops" in the late 1980's. 4:07--"Happy Days" must have been in reruns by this point because I'm pretty sure its original 11-season run was from 1974 until 1985. Me TV has been rerunning it on and off in various time slots in recent years. 4:52--Honey Nut Cheerios were around by this time, but I'm old enough to remember when the plain ones in the yellow box were the only kind. 5:52--"Oh Those Golden Grahams" (used from the mid-1970's through the early 80's, and based on the 19th-century minstrel song "Oh Dem Golden Slippers") is my favorite Golden Grahams jingle, but as they say, this one ain't bad. "Happy Together" was a hit for the Turtles back in the 1960's. 7:02--Schick alcohol treatment program? Yikes! I've never associated that brand with anything but razors. 7:41--The Bugs Bunny show is back, Saturday mornings on the aforementioned Me TV! 8:12--"After these messages, we'll be right back." I think they said "Yeah!" afterwords, but I couldn't help LOL because to my ears it sounded like "Yech!"

I TOTALLY remember the hydrant and dog "After These Messages" bumper!!! The Golden Grahams jingle is indeed a classic. To this day it plays in my head when I have a bowl :-D The Skyball looks really lame, though. Then again, it WAS made by LJN!

is it just me or were things in general just lighter back then, advertisors had fun with their porducts and people were just happier...

@dynomitis FFS, OF COURSE it's a commercial for official G.I. Joe's. I can't think of any conceivable reason why you would think otherwise.

The crazy music in that Autowest Clearance Center ad sounds like the narrator's playing a Castlevania game in the recording booth.

@80sCommercialVault That reminds me of a few years ago, when the local UPN station ran a commercial for an STD medication between the end of Sabrina the Teenage Witch and the start of Disney's One Too (I was working packing shipments for a small company, and the only stations that came in on the TV in the room was that station and various religious and/or Spanish stations. I watched a lot of latter-day Disney Afternoon that year).

i think its funny on the car commercials when they start talking about: COMES WITH AM FM CASSETTE DECK!!

Also - I'd like to imagine Kenner Parker Toys somehow inherited 5,000 square miles of fishing net. "How are we going to get rid of all this net? I know! SKYBALL." Totally rad.

I don't know for sure, but to me the style of the claymation looks different than Vinton's. Also: CBS is the parent company of Will Vinton Productions, and CBS aired all of the specials he made, so I think he was attached exclusively to CBS.

Ohh, I guess that was the Jamin' Jets that LJN made. My bad. Those look pretty cool. If LJN would have stuck with toys instead of crap video games they would probably still be in business today.
