@@80sglammetalcast I do agree with the other songs u chose off Destroyer and Love being filler though...both very good albums but definetly a little filler on each...for me Revenge and Creatures are their 2 best.

And I guess u could call that a hot take as both of those albums only went Gold.

The quiet Riot album with Paul Shortino, I have to check out. I had heard about it, but wasn't so sure, so I will go back and give it a listen. I believe Stryper's "Against the Law" has their interpretation of the song "Shining Star" and I was shocked at how good it was. Widowmaker is another one I have to listen to. I had heard of them, but wasn't feeling them for some reason, so I will go back and give it a listen. Savatage is a band I have quietly like for a while. I'll have go back and listen to that one, as well. Theater of Pain is not bad. It got me to listen to my favorite Motley Crue record, "Dr Feelgood". I'm going to give Dog Eat Dog a chance. I was not a fan of Cherry Pie and stopped listening after that, and, on my part, that really wasn't fair, so I'm willing to see the rest of Warrant's catalogue and see what I missed. Turbo & Painkiller are my favorite Priest releases. The first time I listened to Ozzy Osborne was "The Ultimate Sin" and I fell in love with that release. Great production and his singing was really good. This was an educational one for me, because it made me think about some of the reasons why I didn't like some of these bands and releases back in the day. There are some where I need to find and listen to and see if it will change my mind or not. Music was the biggest reason why I got into the Glam Metal bands of the 80's and early 90's. Some of them, I still listen to today, like Winger, and others fade, but it was a fun time for me, musicially. Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Very insightful.

I think Cinderella has the best track, "If You Don't Like It". Song totally feels like the title. I'd agree that Britny is a lil more fun.

Love your podcast. Question for you guys and followers. I'm looking for the best streaming service for this type of music. Especially the obscure and second wave of Glam/hair/metal. Unfortunately I lost a lot of my music years ago. Would love to hear from people. 🤘🤘🤘💯

I agree with you that Widowmaker's debut is really good and better than a lot of TS stuff and then Stand By For Pain was a big let down to me

Some things you guys said I agree with and other stuff is so crazy that I can’t wrap my mind around them, let alone comment. Anyway, here’s mine: 1. Def Leppard’s Hysteria is overrated and sounds dated. 2. Vince Neil’s Exposed is a better album than Motley Crue ‘94. 3. Lynch Mob’s debut is better than anything put out by Don Dokken since Dokken split in ‘88. 4. Shotgun Messiah’s debut is a better album than Second Coming. 5. “Hair Metal” is a perfectly fine term to describe the genre. 6. Love Bites and Without You are terrible songs. 7. This songs Gene sings lead on are better than the songs Paul sings on. 8. Michael Anthony is Van Halen’s secret weapon and deserves way more credit. 9. Look What the Cat Dragged In has a lot of filler.

I saw Monsters '88 at JFK. It was an amazing show!! Dokken was great. Metallica kicked ass. They didn't steal the show but, they did hold their own. Scorpions and Van Halen were clearly well oiled machines and they showed out! I think Van Halen edged them slightly but, the whole day was incredible! Savage Amusement was good but, it's definitely not the best of the 80's releases and certainly nowhere near their best overall. I honestly even rank Crazy World above it. Generation Swine is a crap sandwich. I love Paul Shortino and his voice was a great fit for Quiet Riot! I might not take it over Metal Health but, it might be my #2. I didn't think Slip of the Tongue was great when it was released. I have warmed up to it a little bit but, not high on my ranking and definitely not better than '87. Stryper are a tough band for me to rank. They all kind of hit me the same. Soldiers and To Hell With the Devil are my go to albums though. Not biting on the Accept take. Cool Cat is the best song on a very bad album. Sorry bro but, I'm out on Hot Space. Ozzy was so good in Sabbath. I definitely don't agree with that take. If Ozzy wouldn't have gotten all dolled up like someone's crazy Aunt Debra during the Jake E. Lee years and let Jake loose, he would have stayed on top as a solo artist but, Sharon happened. Dio never got better than his first two because he stopped doing the uptempo numbers. The dirgey, slow, doomy Dio is a little too run of the mill for me. Too Fast For Love was my favorite for years but, I agree with you on it these days. It doesn't hold up anymore. Starry Eyes still rocks though. Kiss could have put out two all-time classic albums if they'd ditched the weird stuff and just put out the killer cuts. Cinderella was ok. I don't care for Brittany Fox much either. Dee Snyder is one of my least favorite singers. Not a fan of either. All Savatage is great but, I can't rank it over Hall of the Mountain King, Gutter Ballet, or Power of the Night. '89 over '92 bro. I felt like '92 was the year metal got kicked to the curb. Theater of Pain has some decent stuff on it but, half of it is garbage. Home Sweet Home, and Smokin' in the Boys Room are two of the biggest turds on that album. 0U812 is absolutely awesome! and I have loved it from the day it was released. Guns and Roses is so played out I can barely listen to the anymore! I got your back on that one! I'm out on the Black album. When Sandman dropped I tore up my fan card. I didn't even own a copy of it until Covid and I've never listened to it the whole way through. I just can't bare to hear the singles from that album again. They were so ubiquitous that you couldn't avoid them. Led Zeppelin are magical so I can't get with you on that one. I liked Turbo a lot but, Painkiller is my jumping off point for Priest. Kiss Alive II was my favorite but, Alive III is good. Poison were from my area and they were way better before they went to California and got signed. They were a heavy cover band that played Priest songs. Then they go to LA and came out with that weak ass pop metal $hit.

I've got a few I guess: 1. Vince Neil's Exposed is way superior to Motley Crue's 1994 album. 2. Ozzy Osbourne is actually a good singer. 3. Def Leppard's Hysteria sounds like absolute garbage from a production standpoint. Not a masterpiece either, but good. 4. Faster Pussycat and Guns N' Roses are pretty much the same band. If Faster had become the bigger band instead of Guns, would anyone care or know the difference? 5. I Am the Night is my favorite Pantera album. 6. Faster Pussycat is the most overrated Glam Metal band, I don't get their hype. I only like a handful of songs. 7. D'Molls and Big House are awful bands! 8. C.C. Deville is a great guitar player. 9. The music industry itself killed Glam, not the fans, not Grunge and not the genre itself. 10. Danger Danger's Dawn is a better album than Screw It! 11. Peter Criss's 1978 solo album is a masterpiece. 12. Warrant's Belly to Belly is very good. 13. Fly on the Wall is better than The Razors Edge. 14. Terrified by Quiet Riot is better than Condition Critical. 15. Detonator by Ratt is overrated and somewhat forgettable.

lol, 10 and 12 are incredible, but to each their their own. I actually agree with most takes in the video, for the record. My memory’s too shit to remember the ones I disagreed with, but I agreed with more than I didn’t. Even if not in full agreement, definitely somewhere on the same page. 😏
