Ive got a 96 JDM landcruiser in Canada that came with a Nardi wood wheel. I bought a late model steering wheel with airbag. I've learned mine has a 95 stock which didnt have an airbag. I have that wire for the horn but the wheel I bought doesn't have the connector for the wire. So i'm going to have to jimmy it somehow.

nice job mate. um - i have the old non intermittent wiper base model combo switch I wanna replace......you went with newer intermittent model.....so it adapts and the intermittent feature works fine? 🙂

It appears so. I was a little uncertain but it all functions correctly. To my understanding the controls are all within the unit and it just sends out what it needs. Making it all work great.

@@blackllama1 ah nice one. Ive already had an auto elec attend to the combo switch years ago.....and its 32 years (~900,000kms) old.....and it does occassionally switch off.....so i figure its about time. any tips on which brands/ how much for new one? ebay ones any good? looks like you have the 90-92 dashboard like mine.....

@@blackllama1 cheers. I will look around. genuine ones cost $500! not seeing many cheaper ones around. maybe I will just fix up old one? being so old thouigh.....new switch with less miles is tempting..... :-)

Wonder if its possibl, if i remove combo switch for friend to fix, to rig up a temporary blinker lever? Wont need lights driving during day. Hhmm.....

I have the same issue with my highbeams.. Did you ever open up the old switch to repair it?
@blackllama111 ай бұрын
I did open it up but never got it fixed. I still have it. Sometimes the fault is dirty contacts. They can be cleaned. Just copper contact switches. Watch the springs as you dismantle it, it’s not to hard to do.

Hi, having a problem with my blinker switch, 1990 80-series. Turning right, usually does not quite connect, makes a buzzing sound, so usually have to hold the blinker lever down as I turn right. Turning left is OK. Any suggestions? Cheers, Allen

without pulling it apart and looking at it I am unsure. I have not encountered this problem. might be worth checking it is not hitting on any covers around the steering column

Nice job mate, I am doing this soon as well. I have the same combo switch as you do at the start, and also have a later model one to put in after. Does the intermittent wiper adjuster work? And can you still pull the wiper stalk back towards you to do a single pass of the wipers? I have heard different answers.
@blackllama1 Жыл бұрын
yes all functions work.its a lot better having the adjustment on the switch.

Have you checked the headlight relay. Just because you can hear it operating doesn't mean it's OK. It may not be making contact. Only Genuine TOYOTA one will fit the terminals.

He said he tested it before putting it together and it's working now , at least he has the timer thing 4 the intermediate wipers now that's a nice upgrade if it works

Tested and replaced the relay before doing the switch. It was a faulty switch that was the problem. Put in a new genuine Toyota one to make sure. I now have a spare in the car.

@@davidmilledge221 the intermediate on the wipers works great. So handy for light rain. It’s definitely an upgrade that plugs straight in.
