"For me it is." Is the most low-key thought-provoking comment I have heard in a video in a long time. Made me stop and think about my life, what possibilities still exist for me, and appreciate when it really can't get any better than the current moment.

When the wind is in the north, the skillful fisher goes not forth when the wind is in the south, it blows the bait in the fish's mouth when the wind is in the east, it's not fit for man nor beast but when the wind is in the west, that's where it's the very best Great video as usual Joe

What about a tandem sled to haul your stuff. Kinda like a train. Also, I have heard great things about those Diesel Heaters. Dry heat and runs for hours and hours. I see some use an igloo cooler to house them in and keeps it quite.
@JoeHollandFishing Жыл бұрын
Yup I haul tandem sometimes. We had two snowmobiles this trip. I have heard a lot of great things about the diesel heaters too. I have one now I just havent gotten the diesel and the battery to run it.
@Mac47F Жыл бұрын
@@JoeHollandFishing let me know what size battery you go with for your overnighters. I also see that solar panels work well for recharging during the day. I just don't know how efficient that is. I have been watching you for years and love your setup. Though I prefer to go a bit lighter myself on the flooring. But that's my preference. But I will tell you, that you inspired me to give it a go on the ice and I took many of your ideas with me and thanks for that. I especially love the landscape lights. I just drill a hole not all the way through, kick in the shavings and wa-la instant night time lighting. Especially for those out there snowmobiling. At about the 36 second mark on my highlights for last year is my setup. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gofOfHasgdOEa9k Certainly not as professionally done as yours, but I wanted to capture the season and share with fellow ice fishing enthusiasts.

You guys make a great team! Donnie does well for 80. 75 was the oldest I could get my dad out ice-fishing. Even then, I had to do all the work. Must be high pressure to explain the biting lull. On such slow days, I would work the traps constantly, and tie newspaper to the line to move the bait on windy days. Is that a Winnerwell Stove? Got one myself. I also have a hot water attachment (fits around the stovepipe), and a folding oven attachment (sets on top of the stove). One small stove does it all. Two windows light up the tent.

You mentioned you had a problem with the pin droping out while towing your sled. I noticed you put your pin in from the top down, you should put it in from the bottom up. The action of your hitch while towing always pumps the pin upwards. If you use a pin with a spring retainer it will jack itself out of the hole. If you put it from the bottom up it will jack up against the head of the pin. Try it you will be surprised.
