The problem with the waterflow dance at the third attack if you lock into her is she try to land behind you so rolling would end up getting you killed because as soon as she land your camera would focus on her and you would end up rolling into her. Just walk on the opposite of where she's facing and walk backward as soon as she land.

Well even if nobody reads this whatever. I fight Malenia almost daily. Plenty of her attacks are easy to read. Like one her grab if ur not trying to ruthlessly attack her you will see she crouches briefly at that time you prepare to roll forward. Her right to left to right and another left swing are usually fairly readable if you roll in the opposite direction of them. If you’ve hit her enough she will get agitated and dash forward to get her health back when you see the spark then she dashes towards you roll forward. When she’s in second phase and is hovering in the air watch her her movements will change when she darts to the ground dodge roll back just before she lands to give yourself the space not to get Scarlet Rott. When she uses her clones dodge left right forward right right and right. You might still get hit but not enough kill you. Waterfowl when she jumps in the air move back as much as you can to give space for the first part about 3 rolls back for the first on 2 rolls back for the second and roll forward for the last one.

The boxing gloves are a bad matchup I think for her compared to other weapons bc rolling attacks work well especially when she kicks and you don’t have as much range with the gloves

I will fully support that she’s the worst boss in the game and as he says in his video around 8:40 “getting one hit and running away is so lame” that’s how you have to play this boss without summons. She literally supports the playstyle of “hey hit me once then I’m gonna combo you for 72 hits and you gotta dodge them all or I’ll heal and you’ll die, THEN you can hit me one more time :)” she’s ass and I’ll cheese her with a summon every time I gotta fight her I don’t care.

The darks souls games are easy, but player put arbitrary restrictions on themselves and say they "played it for real." However if the mechanics are hard built into the game, like summoning co op help, or using spirit ashes, what about taking that route is illegitimate? It sounds fucking depressing to approach your games by not allowing yourself to fully engage with the. So you can go into online comments sections to show off you badge of loneliness. My first playthrough of elden ring was with my very good friend and we had a great time, I used sorcery like i do in every souls game, and we still hit walls of difficulty that had us stuck. I would not have beaten or played elden ring if not for the Co-op, and I beat sekiro true ending so challenge isn't the issue, it's that the game is designed around these mechanics.
