Hey this is Gavin. I'm going to respond to a bunch of stuff at once here based on the comments. Yes the cable management sucks. It's not a transparent case though so I don't really care. It hasn't had any impact on airflow. I've been running this setup for 3 months 24/7 without any overheating issues. (This was filmed in May). As far as dust goes, I've had this PC for over 2 years now and there has never been a single bit of dust inside it, so I guess we are fine there too. Yes I am wearing odd socks. I've never found pairing up my socks after laundry to be a fantastic use of my time. Why did I price this in USD and not Pounds? I live the USA and bought this stuff using dollars. $8000 may seem like a lot of money but but compared to our other business expenses, this isn't that much at all. For example, maintaining all of our camera equipment, buying lenses and monitors and even stuff like paying for Dan's flights alone to come over and film costs more than $8000 in a single year. It's not a case of just throwing money around. It's a practical upgrade so that I can more efficiently make content for you guys to watch. That being said, people on youtube worry too much about how other people spend their money. I earned the money. I can spend it however I want. I could buy a sweet Rolex or something but I would rather put the money back into the channel to improve the channel. It feels weird having to justify my own spend. Why didn't I just buy some IKEA legs for the desk? Would have made getting to the PC a lot easier. Not as funny though. My monitor is 4K and I don't use scaling in Windows. That's why my desktop footage looks so small. The 10Gb/s refers to the transfer speed between the CineStation and my PC. At no point in this video am I talking about internet speeds. And yes. I would absolutely be up for a collab with Linus and 45drives. Gavin out!

It's probably also up to the decent British language ;) I don't watch these kind of videos most of the times, but I like the British-English so much more than the US-English. Most British speakers seem to have more tone in their speech compared to US-English speakers, which tend to be rather monotone in my opinion. Liked the moving of the desk btw. he rater have a 16:9 4k than a 3440x1440 21:9 for higher ress

Not many ultrawides are 4k and have good colour correction characteristics. Adobe RGB, etc.
@soylentgreenb7 жыл бұрын
Ultrashort monitors are kind of terrible for gaming. It's like looking through a narrow letter box.
@MichaelNKaboose7 жыл бұрын
Quality control as well as overall color accuracy is fairly poor among ultrawide panels, and doubly so for curved ones. Not to mention 3440x1440p is like 2 million less pixels than 3840x2160p. For editing you'd want the larger res and more color accuracy.

I've never heard of a 4k ultrawide monitor

Jonathan Ekholm if I were not an idiot I would assume that they are from the nvidia 900 series because the design of the cards and they're going to be the best because he's processing video so titan X or 980ti so cuda excelleration can be used and the cpu must be really powerfull to run the GPU without Botle knecking so I'd say it is more than capable of running anything apart from ridiculous programs that only supercomputers can run
