As a parent of an former “absolute totally uninterested” teenager (school wise), you guys and the Myth Busters “saved” his life. The funny thing about them wanting characters when they first started and now they naturally developed those characters over time and you know Gavs always the one safe behind the camera while Dans always out front doing the dangerous stuff and the difference in their looks now with Gav being all clean while Dans is just standing in tatters. Even KZbin 4K to on-disc 4K, you'd still see a huge bump up in clarity since the bitrate on the disc would be waaaaay higher. That's the main thing that gets smushed on KZbin in terms of quality degradation. They don't even want to tell you upfront what the bitrates are on the options menu (you can look up the info but I'm saying it's not listed upfront), just the pure resolution numbers and a framerate. That should be a hint that they often skimp out on the bitrate as low as possible for the given resolution, lol.

Keep in mind that the camera can't shoot 4K past a certain FPS, so the super slow shots will still be lower res

@@saltysoysauce954 Not sure what you're trying to say. KZbin compression isn't all that great. A Blu-ray would be far superior to something streamed from KZbin. A 4K Blu-ray would look even better than a regular Blu-ray as well, and far better than even 4K KZbin content. When you stream from KZbin you're not watching the full quality of the original video, you're getting a trimmed down version, even on the 4K stream setting. So putting the videos on a 4K disc would allow us to see the original quality of the video before it was compressed by KZbin. And yes, lots of the content would be upscaled to 4K from lower resolutions, but it would still look far better than being upscaled, then being compressed by KZbin.

Hearing how Gavin started his KZbin channel to get a visa to work in the us, and actually did it is so inspiring to me. When I was 11, I first watched the balloon popping video which inspired me to explore my interest own in cameras, videography, and other creative work. 10 years later and going for a art career in entertainment, I am still a huge fan of this channel, Gavin, and Dan. 1. It's not a DVD (or a 'blue' ray). 2. Making it a download pretty much negates the purpose of a 4K UHD disc. KZbin and streaming services are great, but nothing beats the fidelity of physical media.

You can get the exact same data with no loss of quality by downloading the contents of the disc, though it might be a rather large file. Contrast this to a photograph taken by an analog camera- which IS a physical medium- where the resolution is only really limited by camera focus and paper quality, and where scanning it into digital format *will* cause a loss of fidelity.

I really loves your channels, so its always a good experience for me when i come on and see new episodes. also, thanks to you i started using my 300 frames slow mo effect on my DV Cam which is full hd and i use it to shoot some small videos. if i'd be interested in dvd with all of the stuff, sure !!! i think thats one other way to make tons of money to get better hardware.
