To be fair I think one of them was an m2. So there was a hard drive in there too. It does afterall have 2 m2 drives, and they are easy to confuse with ram sticks in appearance. 256gb of ram is quite impressive, I am a little saddened by the rams relatively slow speed (2666), surprised it's not 3200 or higher.

@@cgi2002 256GB DDR4/3200 at CL16 cost me £1150. I'm really not that surprised that Puget went for something a bit cheaper and put more of the budget where it's needed, like those god-level Quadros.

@@cgi2002 Makes no difference at all for the Workflow Gav has. The 10980XE also only supports 2933 Mhz RAM official. So its not even that dumb, to just go for 2666 Mhz RAM to be in the safe Range, when you Fully Load the IMC with that much RAM.
@ballsrgrossnugly
@ballsrgrossnugly 4 жыл бұрын
@@cgi2002 Watch a Der8aur video on RAM speeds, there is no motherboard that will let you run that kind of speed with 4 slots occupied anyway, there are only 2 memory controllers on the CPU, so a bottleneck comes up with lots of RAM on 4 channels. 2 sticks have to share a channel each. I am more worried about that horrible case for thermals they jammed a completely air cooled system with TWO space heater video cards in it! I have a feeling that thing would run 50% faster if they just put water cooling blocks on everything and had a case with actual venting! EDIT: AND WHAT IS THAT TINY FAN FOR, BLOCKED BY HALF A VIDEO CARD WITH NO VENT TO GET AIR FROM ANYWAY??? Sack Adobe, you're already using Resolve to convert, stick with it and use it to edit as well. It's just as powerful, and in some cases even more useful than the Adobe suite (also a hell of a lot cheaper). Having used both programs extensively for multiple different types of projects, including ones that really pushed the software and my computer. Resolve was IMO the better option, less crashing, less hasle, and an easy workflow that just needed to one program. Speeding everything up.

@@TheSlowMoGuys2 As someone who has worked on a DIT and editing assitant on a few movies I heartily recommend this. @baaelectronics

Totally agree. I've been using Adobe for about 4 years and moved to Resolve this year. Best choice of my life! (Technically my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K was since it came with Resolve) There's even the possibility of choosing a different Adobe plan, one that just includes the photography stuff like Photoshop and Lr since I personally still use those occasionally, and just dump Pr and AE for Resolve.

@@TheSlowMoGuys2 Yeah, resolve is honestly one of the best editing programs there is out there. If you can minimize the number of steps you have to go through, and consolidate your workflow into a single program, you can save yourself a lot of time and headaches in the longrun.

You should reach out to Resolve's peeps and talk with them about a customized algorithm path for your BR exports. You've enough weight, enough clout, and enough reason to slap a huge "file" on their desk and say "my dudes, we need a better in and out". Because there's enough data in the raw stuff to do it and i'm 99.9% sure those guys have the right path for you to do it. You owe it to all the hard work you put into that footage and storing it, to not just work with the best that can be, but also to go beyond that. And as the sayings go: nothing ventured, nothing gained. You've nothing to lose, and all the world to win.

@@The-Celestial Power and Speed are different things for these cards. yes, they're monstrously more powerful than Titan RTX, but they're also slower clock speeds. What makes them more expensive is the number of Cuda Cores they have VS the clock speed of gaming cards. Game specific graphics cards have extremely high clock speeds, and put off a lot of heat as a result. But by having higher speeds at the sacrifice of having fewer cores, means that they're within an at least sensible price range. the Quadro cards mean while, are meant for video production and CGI, and cost multiple thousands of dollars each. that high cost comes from the massive core counts among other things in the cards, but have slower clock speeds. so they're actually going to be comparable to RTX 3080s in terms of their actual performance. Now for the reason they do this. the Slow clock speed is for accuracy. These cards are for CGI rendering as well as simulations. Programs that require highly accurate performance. Gaming cards sacrifice some of their accuracy by having higher clock speeds. Though, the most you'll see is a few off pixels in one or two frames, which will go completely unnoticed while gaming. But for a program relying on every number crunch being perfectly accurate to even function, it's very important. Especially in high end simulations. Which also require a TON of Vram. which Quadro cards also have a ton of. Since the video mentioned these specific cards have 24 gigs of Vram each. some go up to 64 gigs of Vram.

@@DragonHeart53 Very well put! That is what I meant. Although I knew it but I refrained from explaining. Thanks for the info :) That's why I say, for games to be built from scratch to perfection, you need Quadros but for that ultimate Gaming experience you need Geforce.

@asgart16
@asgart16 4 жыл бұрын
@@axeldrake6483 Wrong. The maximum bitrate of a typical Blu-ray Disc is 53,95 Mbit/s. Most movies "only" use about 40 Mbit/s. So, if you got a digital video with 50 Mbit/s or higher, it would look better than on Blu-ray. The only exception would be UHD Blu-ray discs, which could theoretically go up to 120 Mbit/s, but no movie ever used all of it to my knowledge, with many UHD movies using just about 44 Mbit/s and a few going up to 80 Mbit/s. You could just master digital files in 150 Mbit/s, since I believe the RAW files of a Phantom go even higher than that, but at that point you just got diminishing returns, since the files get really large without great picture quality upgrades.
