It's less about the power and more about being exclusive. It feels good having the only car on the block in your high end trim.

The AMG GT R is not about the more power alone. The car is more track focused and even more better handling. HP just come with the new setup on top. In general 90% of the drivers are not able to get the maximum performance out of an 200hp car. We see them daily here on the Nürburgring :-D

You could still do the exact same thing they did to the GTR model on the base GT (i think) or the GTS. I'm pretty sure it's the same chassis and the same motor and probably the same turbo setup (just tuned differently). So the only advantage I see to the GTR is it's exclusivity.

+Zach Mockett "You could still do the exact same thing they did to the GTR model on the base GT (i think) or the GTS" Well, I guess adding rear wheel steering is just a bolt-on job then, along with an almost completely new rear suspension setup, variable-spool valve adaptive dampers, as we know, internal chassis reinforcement can be done at tuning shop along with weight reduction with exotic materials, an aero package that's been thoroughly tested for YEARS in the wind tunnel, by the means of CFD simulations, and on track as well, and, of course, you can also get sophisticated new turbos with a new ECU that increases power without adding turbo lag, for almost free....Available package at any tuning garage.... ...Please, just don't comment on things you know nothing about....Very bad habbit.
@zachmockett75668 жыл бұрын
+bosshunterman I dont know enough, but i did mention that this was IF it was the same turbo setup. but yea other than that, its a lot of changes... some are realistically things that may be on the GTR, others im not quite convinced. i can admit to this situation maybe not being the most sensible one to buy the base model, but in others it is a possibility. as you said, bad habit of speaking my mind but im glad i said it cuz otherwise i wouldn't have been corrected on it. (bare in mind its 4:55am and my eyes are hardly open so i apologize if this is grammatically incorrect)
@bosshunterman8 жыл бұрын
Zach Mockett What do you mean you are not convinced? I pretty much just listed the things that have already been confirmed(not by "rumours" or "leaks", but by the likes of Tobias Moers)...You do your own research.
@zachmockett75668 жыл бұрын
+bosshunterman ah ok see i didnt know that, you could've mentioned it was confirmed before listing them off. I haven't been doing research much, but thanks for doing it for me! so in the end, by making a dumb comment I've learnt valuable information.

Good question: are the upgraded models really needed? Let's consider the Ford Focus. Base, ST, RS, RS 500. Is there one that is in the sweet spot? Do they all need more power? Don't know. Obviously not 200 mph cars, but a reasonable question none the less.

technically no one needs a sports car and if you live in a city you technically don't need a car at all, but lets face it, the world needs fun exciting cars, we need something to aspire to and for people who love cars and driving it's supercars/dreamcars. Like for me personally my dream car is a C2 Corvette with a 427 for others it might be the AMG GTR

#FLDQoftheD THANK YOU FOR THAT QoftheD! I was thinking about that since you talked about the AMG GTR! If it's the same powerplant, in the same car; why do you need to spend (insert ridiculous amount of money) more than the base model to get it tuned to a higher power output? Buy the base model, tune it yourself exactly how you'd like it to be. I understand having a more powerful model if it's a different motor, say Audi A4 to Audi S4 or Porsche 911 GT3 to Porsche 911 GT3 RS or even Ford EcoBoost Mustang to Ford GT Mustang! Otherwise, youre most likely being ripped off. I hope someone gives some opinions on my idea, I'm not sure if I have a different view on this or if most people agree...
