Morning RoadKing! Thats a nice job you've done there, Not many people would have thought of adding the crush tube into the support if it wasn't included in the repair part. This side is almost done now and it wont be long before you have all the new metal in the cab.
@805ROADKING3 жыл бұрын
Evening MrShin!! Thanks, hopefully the other side goes a little faster!!☺

I use Uni bits, angle drills, and air saws in aircraft structural work. The good part is that metal isn't weldeable, the bad part is that metal isn't weldeable!

The quality of those multi-size drill bits depends on the number of flutes. The HFT ones usually only have one or two flutes, but they do work ok in aluminum. Haven't tried them in steel.

If you do alotta drilling in sheetmetal it worth getting a good one!!☺

That right angle drill . I ended up buying one a few years ago for cabinet installs . I had a similar one ( adapter style that you did ) but when you’re in a blind hole , the adapter flips down and if you can’t get a second hand in the blind hole , it’s as useless as not having one . Anyway ,, I have the Milwaukee ra drill and they dewalt . The mil was cheaper ,,and its was actually better quality than the dewalt 👍😊

We use those cage nuts all the time for rack mount cabinets but I've only used M6 size so your solution is probably better. When the truck eventually goes to junkyard heaven, the one part remaining is going to be those spacer tubes.
@805ROADKING3 жыл бұрын
Yeah Buddy!! Those tubes weighed as much as the whole mount weighed!!☺

@@805ROADKING Well, when I was a young boy, I'd always drop in and linger at a Auto Body Shop in our neighborhood, on my home from school. :) Somehow I was amazed and interested to watch as the guys there, transformed a collision damaged car into a work of art! So now,.... you're it!

Remember this has to comply with family values!! You can’t talk about or show butt welding!! LOL! You’re making progress slow but sure! Too bad you don’t have room in the garage, working out in the driveway waiting on decent weather really slows things down. Hang in there buddy!

haven't seen your other videos, but I've always assumed the cab mounts were the same in all the F series fords of the era. The inverted 'cone' coming down to the chassis. Did you modify that by cutting that out, or is this just how they did the F100?
