Hoping so there has been a whole lot of it going on with this one.

Looks great man! Starting my 68 soon, need to find the drip rail set still. Roof cap And rail are bad, otherwise not horrible all around

If you have little kids and have read the book "if you give a mouse a cookie"....that is just like working on one of these trucks...lol....One thing always leads to another thing....always.

Comin' along and lookin' good. While you got that bed off, it may be a good time to drop some new brake likes and a new e-brake cable too.
@OrangeWiresGarage Жыл бұрын
Was looking at the e brake cable on the driver side and it’s too short to even go to the right place. Definitely gonna have to replace them. Need to just get a kit and make all the hard lines too.

I see you moved away from the drum sander tool pretty quickly, curious why? Did it overheat? Not work as quickly?
@OrangeWiresGarage Жыл бұрын
We used a combination of the drum and the grinder. Both worked well the grinder was a little quicker. Thanks for watching!

You may want to remove the primer from the cab corners also! The primer used isn't all that good. Fyi nice Project! I am getting ready to restore my one owner 1969 f250 crew cab, short box f250 after 445k Miles and sitting for 7 years! Love Bumpsides. Thanks for the Video

@@OrangeWiresGarage it has been my favorite since new, Hasn't got one dent in it even the top bed rails are perfect. Doors, All 4 close like new! However, from all the places it's lived and been outside it has the rust mongers everywhere! Lol Best part is most everything is available ready made and I won't have to fabricate too many pieces, Thankful for that part! Still gonna remove body from frame completely. And Yes, Lotsa work and hopefully at my age it will cooperate with me. THANKS for the response. I toy with the idea of You Tube start to finish yet the time to photo and edit etc. Takes lotsa time! We shall see about that one! Nice to have discovered how popular these old Bumpsides are. Love My 3 for sure! Drive one Daily still. Regards

How many discs did you go through using that?
@OrangeWiresGarage Жыл бұрын
On the drum I just used one. The 4 1/2 grinder I used 5 and used about 15 or 20 of the 3” die grinder discs

@@OrangeWiresGarage thank you. Getting started on my body work I was sanding on it and started think it’s going to be best to get down to bare metal. So many different coats of paint some of which are just blowing right off like didn’t adhere well from previous owners

Why put a gas tank back behind seat,nuts mate
@OrangeWiresGarage Жыл бұрын
Is that a bad thing?
@lawrencetrapani5623 Жыл бұрын
@@OrangeWiresGarage with regard tovthe tank behind the seat, I have two bumpsides that have the dual tank setup and enjoy the fact of having the extra fuel capacity and haven't smelled any fumes ever! To each his own there are a whole lot of these trucks that have been around for 50 plus years and they seem to be just fine! Dint think there is perfect in any vehicle and preference belongs to the owner and what they are content with! Just Sayin
