Thank you for the best KZbin channel . I love the 80s because I was raised in that decade.

I'm from Ohio, and I watched Sammy Terry EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND!! I loved his show so much. I still tell people of it's awesomeness even today. This and the commercials bring back so many amazing memories. :D Thank you so much for sharing this.

The Sammy Terry show reminds me so much of the Grandpa Fred character from Gremlins 2, and the show he had in that movie. Or maybe it's the fact that "George" sounds like a Mogwai that makes me think of it. Whatever the reason, I need to re-watch Gremlins 2. Thanks for the reminder.

I believe the direct inspiration for that character was Grandpa Al Lewis' stint of hosting horror movies on TBS for their show "Super Scary Saturday", as the fictional cable network in the movie is mocking TBS/Ted Turner. It's possible that the writer of the screenplay/Joe Dante was inspired by other local horror hosts though. "Gremlins 2" is one of my favorites

As a proud Hoosier transplant, I enjoy these Indianapolis ads immensely! As I mentioned on another volume, I love Sammy Terry’s “pet,” George.

I googled "8225 West Washington" in Indianapolis...and sure enough, Budget is still there! I see George Costanza has a kindred spirit in TV Guide.

oh is that supposed to be a play on 'cemetery'? ha I just got that. :P don't recall ever seeing him though I assume he was mainly in that particular area? some neat segments, though

He was a local horror host, not broadcast or shown nationally. So he was famous/iconic in Indiana but nowhere else. Back then virtually every local affiliate had some sort of horror host like this that showed B movies.

Sammy Terry-wouldve loved to see an ST/Elvira crossover.."Navy VS The Night Monsters"? that movie would be good for a remake..Syfy,get on it Taco Bell-back when they used real ground beef lol Matchmaker International-the precursor to eHarmony,Match.com etc

Re: "Navy Vs. The Night Monsters"...the title is awful and the wiki for the movie says that nearly everybody involved with the movie but the producer hated it, and the cast almost walked out on the movie because of the title. It's not a bad B-movie for the time though. I'm partial to any movie with evil, man-eating tree monsters though.
