October of 1979, and the 1980s were just around the corner. I remember that year well. I was in the 4th grade. Good times. I miss them. The world is so bleak today.

1:00 - My grandma and grandpa used to have that kind of Mr. Coffee maker, with the switches that looked like eyes. I remember thinking it looked like a robot with a face.

I am a SUCKER for these throwback commercials from the 70's, and 80's. What Great Memories they bring.

I found this channel about 7 years ago and I've loved every upload. Im only in my early 30's but but I constantly share this with my parents who are in their 60's and it brings them joy from the nostalgia. Thank you very much!

Ahhh The late and great Casey Kasem…… A legend indeed.

Man, how often was Casey Kasem's voiced used in commercials during the 70s and 80s?
@80sCommercialVault2 жыл бұрын
When you consider the fact that he was also the host of America's Top 40 and probably the most popular Radio DJ at the time, he was definitely one of the most heard voices in America back then.

Casey Kasem was also the NBC evening lineup announcer from roughly 1977-1981.

I wish I could find episodes of Shirley. I remember many years ago watching the Christmas special (highlights of TV Series).

1:00--Those Mr. Coffee coffee makers seem to last forever! Mine isn't that old, but I've had it since 1996--26 years and still going strong. 2:00--A classic Toyota jingle that, I have to admit, I had pretty much forgotten about. 2:30--I think this was about the time that Arby's first came to my area. I love the jingle in this commercial. 5:26--Is it just me, or is "Mrs. Olson" in the Little House On the Prairie promo eerily similar to the Folger's coffee advertising icon of the same name? 6:26--A classic Pepsi Cola jingle, and my childhood idol (Mickey Mouse)!

"Little House On The Prairie" was based on autobiographical novels first published in the 1930's, so Mrs. Oleson existed decades before the Folgers coffee ads. I'm not really sure what the "eerie similarity" is between two completely different looking women (other than their similar sounding names).

@@80sCommercialVault For some reason she reminded me of the classic Folger's ads, but then again, it's been a while since I've seen one, so I must have been thinking that the two resembled each other more closely than they actually do.

I was a little surprised that Casey Kasem would do an Arby's commercial, given that he refused to do Shaggy's voice unless they made him a vegetarian.

Before he became a vegan. He used to do commercials for Henry's Hamburgers as well.

They were really pushing "And Baby Makes Six," even in the local station break.

Looks like "Shirley" didn't make it after all! Plus the march of the sentient copiers and "they are holding hands, where's my fainting couch!"

Real People-guy probably was a big hit at parties Shirley-Shirley Jones is Shirley..and she works at TV Tropes's Department Of Redundancy Department And Baby Makes Six-too bad there wasn't a sequel"And Twins Make Eight" Close Up-before he was a detective, Thomas Magnum did toothpaste ads The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo-not the DC character Undercover With The KKK-wonder how he was found out
@80sCommercialVault2 жыл бұрын
There actually WAS a sequel to “And Baby Makes Six” in 1980, titled “Baby Comes Home”

Funny how Shirley Jones and Shirley Hemphill both had flop shows this season. Maybe they should have merged their shows and called it *Shirley and Shirley.*
