That's likely because after this... the Giants would never taste glory again until they got a hold of the magic of Manning... Eli Manning. A. K. A the Brady buster. The man responsible for ensuring the Patriots got only so close to perfection yet so far.

It's not even the same game anymore. While baseball and basketball have certainly changed from my childhood, the NFL is today a completely different game than the game I grew up watching and playing. And yes I played through high school, college, and arena football. In today's game simply hitting hard is illegal. There is no such thing as a legal, hard hit. If it looks too hard, if the hit simply looks too hard, it's a penalty.
