My sisters old boyfriend had a 82 GT but was burgundy with same black interior. I think that car is what got me to love the fox body mustang. Kinda miss my ole 88 lx hatch 5.0.

A well preserved car for its age. I recall the TRX wheels and tires came factory on the GTs, but seems that there 15 inch rims with more conventional (and affordable) performance tires available, just not advertised. I test drove one in May of. 82. It was a breath of fresh air in the straight line. I attended an auto cross event where a C3 big block Corvette put on quite a show of breaking the rear tires loose as he slid around the cones. Next up was a bright red 82 GT with the TRXa, and it stole the show in terms of tire smoke. One thing that is nNot in Lenin these early Fox GTs is the finned aluminum rocker covers. Not only a touch of class but a link to the past. I enjoyed your production.

The missing headlight bezels are now being reproduced and sold at Late model resto, in case you can´t find original ones

Oh - one other thing I notice is that the windshield washer reservoir has antifreeze in it, while the coolant overflow reservoir is empty and missing the hose from the radiator neck.

Very nice 82.👍 Appears it’s had a repaint by the sail panels being body color. Interior looks great for the age. The seats were known to separate like that but easily repaired. It has the 10 hole wheels that started in 1985 but they make the replica wheels now. Definitely post more videos of your progress on the car.

Yeah after further inspection we think it's been repainted. We couldn't see that under the dirt

Only T-top cars had black sail panels. Regular hardtops, the sail panels were body color.

Silver is the best color. I had a red one I drove for seven years and 150000 miles back in the '90s. My headliner came down the same way. Mine was a factory sunroof car, so the sunroof cutout held it up. My dum bass tried regluing it with Elmer's, and it actually mostly worked. They always want to come down at the hatch-header... Worst part of getting the headliner out is the rear side panels need to come out - which means that the rear seat has to come out... But as I remember, that backing board was pretty robust and reusable - at least in 1996. I bypassed my heater core as well. My car was mostly loaded - AC, cloth seats, sunroof, Premium Sound, Light Group, (but no map light, probably because of the sunroof) Cruise control, (which used a Crown Vic-looking steering wheel) rear wiper and washer, TRX, but no tilt wheel or power windows or locks.

That's one damn sexy looking 42 year girls there .. Just a basic combo, of a GT package, a 5 speed, back in the day.. I had a 65 coupe by 87, though never did own any of the Fox v8 GT stangs.. I won't count my 81 T bird, with GT swapped 5.0 with my AOD .. It's just not the same, is it....

Bet its been re-painted becouse that trim beside those quarter windows was always flat black like the mirror color, ford didnt paint that trim body color, ive always loved that front end, in 1995 i got my 1st gt , a mint showroom condition black 86gt 5speed, since then ive had 4 foxbodies, i now have a 88 lx hatch with a built 331 stroker, it was red but i had it re-painted black, if it wasnt so hard to match the trim up i might sourse a 82 gt front nose cone to put on my 88, i love it that much

After we got the top layer of diet knocked off we realized it had been repainted at some point. The fox bodies are cool cars but it seems people either love them or hate them

I had a red one, and only the T-top cars got the blackout around the side windows. Mine had the factory sunroof, so the window frames and fake extractor vents were all body color, Medium Red. Although I once saw a picture of an apparently original silver one which had the metal strip, which runs up the A pillar and over the side windows, painted black - and it wasn't a T-top car. Though it did have trim moldings around the side glass which were blacked out.
