“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword". Figuratively speaking of course but you get the idea, he was there to save people and he knew that would turn others against them in the long run. Same with York, he killed all those people to save his own men, but of course anyone would question themselves indefinitely after performing such seemingly merciless actions. Desmond Doss I think is the model of a Christian soldier, he did as much as he possibly could without resorting to violence and let the Lord be his protection from the enemy, not a gun.

The thing I like about Sabaton is that when you ask someone which song is their favorite, 20 people will have 20 different answers. They have so many good, different songs across so many albums and topics that it's hard to choose! Last Friday was Yorks birthday but it was the same day my school went into a lockdown because of an active shooter threat. I was listening to this song when we heard it wasn't a drill and were told to hide in the corner, but I thought that wasn't something that Alvin York would do. I went up to my teacher and asked her for scissors and sat down by the door, waiting for someone to enter for about an hour and a half while listening to this song along with some others to keep me calm. Eventually the shooter turned out to be a false alarm but I'm still proud of myself for being brave and wanting to protect my classmates. Thank you Sabaton and Alvin York for inspiring so many people to be brave!

I had the great honor to visit Sgt. York’s home, meet one of his sons, and see his gallbladder that had been removed preserved in a jar. One of the best childhood memories I have! One of his uniforms and his Medal of Honor are also displayed at the Tennessee State Museum in Nashville which I highly recommend seeing if you come to Tennessee!

My great-grandfather fought as a part of the 82nd in WW2 at D-Day and Operation Market Garden. Survived both.

York's battle was so badass, so incredible archeologists digged up the forest where it was fought like it was the Trojan War. All because people didn't believe it happened in the first place.

Don't make the man from Tennessee climb down from the Smokey Mountains and stop what he was doing to fight you. He ain't gonna be happy

Fitting verse for Sergeant York: Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; he is my steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield and he in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me. Psalm 144:1-2 ESV

If we get Attack of the Deadmen and both Indy and Joakim aren't downing Vodka shots while doing awful Russian accents. Well then you have failed Sabaton History, you have failed!

I recently was in jail for a little over a month because of a crime I didn’t commit. Your music helped me deal with the situation. Thank you Sabaton.
