Thank you!! When I first found this Wiki page I was so confused about where the actual patterns were and have been avoiding it ever since. Sounds like there are actually some pretty cool ways to use it :)

Thank you again for the heads up I had been busting for over 3 years to find a copy of McCall's 5225 from the '40s and Nearly went down that rabbit hole of 83,000 free patterns you saved me the trouble and I went to Copa's Pattern Archive and found the pattern front cover and Layout. I may have better luck making one in my size from my own Basic pattern blocks then killing myself finding a reprint in my Size I'm 6 foot 1 and have some fit issues for sure LOL

10/10 saving this to send anyone else who tags me in this frickin stupid clickbait. It's such a good website why they gotta do it dirty like that. Also, that Mccall's 9557 pattern - I have two vintage (store made) robes JUST like it and now I am gonna hunt it dooown.

Thanks for this video stephanie! i'm about two and a half hours into this hobby, and this site confused the hell outta me! I have a question- why is there no real pdf archive of vintage sewing patterns online? or if there is, why is it so hard to find? i'm sure its because these are copyrighted like books but i can pretty easily find any vintage book or comic or movie or what have you online somewhere, why are sewing patterns specifically so rare? is it because nobody wants to kill their business selling physical copies?

I will have to go over your post a few times to find out how to get what I want. Thanks for your help.

Even if there was a repository of 83000 free vintage patterns on the internet...I would still want to buy the physical pattern, I'm assuming a lot of people that like vintage patterns like me are fans of vintage ephemera in general and just enjoy having things that are really old that you can hold in your hands.

OMG you know how many people in my dang life tell me that free vintage patterns are now available online!? OMG yes it is so so so annoying. SO ANNOYING. You know, watching this has upped my motivation to sit down at the thrift store and go thru the huge glut they have to weed out the 5-20 patterns they have that are almost free (cheap) … just takes such a huge amount of time. And now … we're all in masks. I don't sell, but dang man I am a pattern appreciator and lover and maker.

There should just be a rule that if you are seeing something on your timeline about a craft you don’t actively participate in online, anyone you’ve seen post more than twice regarding said craft saw it 3+ months ago. So just don’t. 😂

... Fortunately people in my life are well aware that you NEVER send anyone a link to anything without checking it out yourself, at least substantially, first. It's like mansplaining. Do I have reason to believe that this information is something which the recipient, who has a stated interest in this subject matter, won't have encountered already? Is this information new? Nuanced? A different take? Are you sharing it in order to discuss it with the recipient or get their opinion on it?
