I can always understand almost everything to you, in fact at times I may forget that I' m listening sth in English, and that made me thing that I knew more English that I supposse i did, but while listening. There are various reasons. 1) LEP has always been an audio podcast, and so I prioritise the audio episodes, giving them extra attention and extra content. 2) It's easier/faster for me to make audio than video, and so it is easier to add extra bits to the audio episodes. There are probably other reasons which I don't have time to go into right now. But basically, LEP is an audio show, and some episodes have full video versions, other episodes have certain sections in video form.

I think this particular guest has a slightly more academic style of speaking and therefore comes across as monotone, making it hard to focus unless you are really interested in the topic and can fully immerse yourself into listening to him.
