I am a regular listener of your videos more than ten years ago. Since then, I have learnt more than I expected, and this, makes me feel self-confident with the English language, to the point that sometimes I forget the meaning of some Italian words as I remember them only in English... I learn English because I simply like to learn. I am constantly hungry for knowledge in every field. The better I know English, the more sources of knowledge are available to me. Your podcast, Luke, is a source of knowledge and inspiration to me on many levels thanks to your interesting guests. You can teach a lot in a seemingly ordinary conversation. Thanks a lot. All the best to you and Fabio. I love reading, so I will definitely buy his book😊

Hello, Luke and Fabio! I'm a LEP from Brazil, and I enjoyed this episode very much! Fabio said a lot of important things for us to take into account carefully. I agree with him that grammar is important, but language is also music and real world. I meant to say that, like Fabio said, that it will depend on the level each learner is at the moment. Thank you, Luke and Fabio! (Francisco Cesar - Sapiranga, RS, Brazil)

I started to learn real English after I came to U.S. and mainly focus on reading, writing, listening, answering questions and never speaking freely. Recently I found out that I needed to focus on speaking like native English speakers. I watched LEP and loved it. I went to the website to find more older podcasts about learning English and they’re very helpful and encouraging. I sometimes repeated listening the same podcast because they make me laugh and make English so interesting and funny that I didn’t realize that before. Now I listen LEP every day for a few hours while I am working and after work. Hope I will be transformed as a better English speaker as I listen more, like Luke said listening and speaking go hand in hand. Thank you, Luke for all you do! Can’t wait to listen more your fun podcasts.

Long-time listener here and great fan of Luke's teaching approach: engaging, relaxed with a sprinkle of humour! Needless to say I really enjoyed the conversation. The topic is something we all can relate to very much and it's interesting to know other people's experience and how they dealt with common problems in the learning process. One thing disappointed me a little bit but I guess I need to accept that there's still someone who haven't watched and haven't been fascinated by the Star Wars universe (the old stuff, of course). I forgive you Fabio! 😢😀

Fabio is definitely a great podcaster and "content creator" (I hate this term). I have been following him since the beginning of his podcast. It's great to see how his podcast has changed over time. Not that it was bad but I like it that the podcast is changing and evolving. It's a lot of fun and I can learn a lot from him, be it from one of his blog posts, his book or another piece of content (again, "content"... sorry for that) Cheers, Daniel.

I think it`s much about priority when learning a language. As Luke said, (if I can get around with the French I know)... I don`t think it`s an excuse, it`s the priority and it`s a smart choice given the situation. Nowadays, the clock is ticking down, you focus on what`s boiling now... Very intelligent idea of the book, it`s this contradictory nature of life, that shows up even in language learning...

@muro_35 "The main difficulty I face during this time is expanding my vocabulary. It used to be challenging for me when I learned new words but then forgot them because I didn't practice. However, I eventually discovered the secret, which is consistent practice. Practicing regularly is the key to improvement. Immersing yourself in English is important, so try to use English in your daily life. When you encounter a word you don't know, look up its meaning. This will help you gradually improve and become more proficient in English."

❤thank you Luke and thank you Fabio teaching in Milan my birth town. A comment about english classes in Italy ( and as Luke said France as well). The real problem is that learning is not yet offered through new media but still done in the old grammar book-based style. Teachers must change their approach and school must provide tools to join the target. Anyway young generations have in their hands whatever they want to learn in a full immersione of listening and natural speaking of english. It' s up to them. Stop blaming others

I would like to be there with you and join the conversation - it's genuinely engaging/involving/absorbing/... I'd like to discuss some stuff. I guess my English level is B1/B2, I don't feel confident and have no fluency at all. But, still, when I'm trying to conversate in any way, it doesn't change who I am. I don't understand why someone can be interested in playing a role of themself in their second language. Language is just a tool. It doesn't change who you are. If your waiter knows your mother tongue, you don't need to make any effort - you can speak freely. Or you can tell him, that you prefer the other language, even if yours is not perfect. If someone makes an effort to speak foreign language, they should be proud of themselves, not ashamed. In theory... ("simple, but not easy", however it is good to have this in consciousness) What I find particularly beautiful in Fabio's words is the part about the melody of our roots in our native accents.

@rosalbaprietorubio351910 ай бұрын
