We fixed that problem with Spray Paint. Rusted areas will need Sand Paper and Bondo. $35 should fix that problem . That's the wonderful thing about owning a military vehicle.

You really should learn about the 1984-1987 CUCV,even if you are trying to sell one. 1.The M1008 is a Basic Pickup 2.The M1009 is the Blazer 3.I've never heard of a "D10" G.M. Truck 4.The Blazer is not a C10,there are a K5 5.The C10,C20,C30 are all 2WD Pickup Trucks 6.The M1009 just like the M1008-M1031 are 4×4 and a K10,K20,K30 are 4×4 also but not a Blazer. 7.None of the N/A 6.2L V8's from Detroit Diesel are a "powerhouse",they are 130 HP/250 lbs of Torque,primarily made for the purpose of high Fuel Efficiency and Reliability 8.A 6.2L V8 can make 190 HP/365 lbs of Torque with a Banks Turbocharger and 5-10 Psi of Boost 9.The Chevrolet M1008-M1031 CUCV is for 1984-1987,and stands for "Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle".Originally the CUCV was the M880-M886 from Dodge dating back to 1976-1977 (I think).All of the Chevrolet CUCV's have the Naturally Aspirated Detroit and most of them are the same except for the Transfer Cases,Axles,& Gear Ratio.

The military and stock consumer k5's had very little differences. I personally went with a consumer for the interior options and the fact it's simple nice 12v instead of the dual system.. Don't get me wrong I would try to get my hands on another in a heartbeat ;)

@Why Me 1.The 6.2L was both a Military & Civilian Engine,the C/K Series and CUCV's as well as the H1 and HMMWV's had them. 2.The NP-205/NP-208 Transfer Case in the M1008-M1031 is the same thing you could get in a civilian Chevrolet,the M1028,M1028A2,& M1031 have the NP-205,the other CUCV's all use the NP-208 3.The 6.2L/6.5L were primarily made for just Fuel Efficiency and being Reliable for alot of Trucks.The N/A 6.2L has 130 HP/250 lbs of Torque and a 6.2L with a Banks Turbocharger is 190 HP/365 lbs of Torque running 5-10 Psi of Boost. 4.The Gear Ratios in these Trucks are no different than any civilian apparatus out there,anyone can change Gears in a Truck first off,and there are many normal trucks outside the Military using the same Gear Ratio,just for different purposes obviously.

I mean what is the alternator output for such vehicles? 26V, 27V, 29V? I'm making some accessories are compatible with these vehicles (large trucks and hummers) that use 24V systems.

I can't stand watching a video with someone telling you about a vehicle and don't know what they are talking about. first off it's not a c10 it's a k5 m1009. second it was not converted to 24 volt it was made that way. and last that is a Communications Specialty Vehicle. from Norfolk Virginia. fyi the broken antenna will sell for 400$ also the rear rack is for a Jerry can. and you didn't point out the gun rack. honestly I would love to have one this clean.

I know your vid was 2010: I drove these POS in Germany, Bosnia, Korea and other places. These are JUNK. M1009 CUCV Blazer K5 Diesel. The Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle or CUCV/LSSV is a vehicle program instituted to provide the United States military with light utility vehicles based on civilian trucks. These get stuck in 2 inches of mud! No Turbo, no power. It would take serious modifications to get this ready for off-road use Ranch Truck or hunting. They are great on the AutoBahn in snow storms paved roads - lol. The HUMV is only slightly better.
@Slim_Slid4 жыл бұрын
The HMMWV & CUCV both use the Detroit 6.2L/6.5L V8's and the LSSV uses the Duramax 6.6L.The Duramax is actually more shit than the Detroit.Obviously with those Tires,these Trucks were not purposely designed for extreme terrain,but the M998-M1123 Humvees use 37×12.50's which can easily be swapped onto these.It's recommended to use a Lift Kit,espiecally if you want to Off-Road,but you can run 37 Inch Tires with only a Leaf on the Front with one of these.The 6.2L in the 1984-1987 M1008-M1031 is 130 HP/250 lbs of Torque,none of those Engines were primarily made for large amounts of Torque,but just high Fuel Efficiency while being more Reliable and still able to handle some Weight.They have a Banks Turbocharger for the 6.2L,which was also a offer for the 6.9L IDI & 7.3L IDI from Ford,and it does 5-10 Psi of Boost while adding 60 HP/115 lbs of Torque if it is done appropriately,it will add the 6.2L V8 to 190 HP/365 lbs of Torque.The 6.2L Detroit normally had Head or Harmonic Balancer issues,sometimes even the Fuel Pumps or Fuel Filters,but not at random or occasionally,they are no different than the 6.2L in the Humvees.The Duramax on the other hand in the 2000-2005 LSSV is trash,all of them such as the LLY,LB7,& LBZ have Fuel Injector,Injector Cup,Inverted Hex Head,Fuel Filter,Turbo,& Valvetrain errors,and that's not the entire list,the Tie Rods have to be replaced every 20,000 Miles and Injectors are fucked up every 150,000 Miles.

Why do they use a 24 volt starting system?
@lastmanstanding60817 жыл бұрын
MisterFuturtastic cause it's got 22:1 compression..mine total is 2,000 cca.. on a cold day you won't wonder why anymore
@MW-jj1rn5 жыл бұрын
@@lastmanstanding6081 is correct the truck is 24v but a 12v system. This has Dual 100Amp Alternators wired in series for 24V- you need Cold Crank Amps in cold climate areas. Germany was -10 minimum in the winter. The vehicle was designed for the Cold War main use Europe - Pine Trees and rolling hills. It also has a slave cable system to jump start other vehicles. I drove for the CO we had AM/FM Radios hence 24v systems to start and run military equipment. There are two alternators and two batteries, each of which is 12-volt. The alternators and batteries are connected in series to create 24- volts. The driver’s side alternator charges the vehicle’s front battery. This battery and alternator supply power for all the 12-volt components/systems. Both alternators charge the second battery. The electrical system of the M1008/M1009 is a civilian 12-volt system modified to allow 24-volt starting and supply 24-volts for military accessories - AM/FM Military Radio not a civilian car radio. The only true 24-volt component is the starter motor. The glow plugs and glow plug relay are 12-volt components. Their 24-volt power supply is reduced to 12-volt by the use of a resistor bank. All running lights, interior lights, and gauges are 12-volt components.
