Good video, there is a hook counter to this where the hooker floats there fingers at the start and allows the top roller to pronate into their hand. This allows for greater coverage. Would be cool to do a short/video on this

And how you would prevent that hook counter? They did that to me and even low hand didn't work because he had a high cup
@armwrestlingprofessor2 ай бұрын
@@_lelel__ it can become a bit of a prediction game. Yes low hand (high thumb) should remove that gap, but if he's then going high cup like you say, you may need riser pressure too. This is actually my technique of choice, as I feel it secures my probation through the high thumb while also contesting the top spot through index knuckle pronation (what I refer to as tip of the sword pronation). Sharpen your sword tip through training and you can even dominate the top spot in a high thumb toproll

You are also leaving your wrist exposed if your opponent is faster than you they can really quickly apply posting back pressure and rise over you and with your grip your basically letting go of alot of your finger containment and your riser has to be stronger than theirs

@@armwrestlingprofessor what about the finger containment as if your opponent hits faster than you and makes you hold on than you have a lot less finger containment a low hand top roll would be far better for protecting your pronation

The power you lose mechanically from pushing out your thumb out ways the amount of power recquired to break through the tips of someones fingers. The moment you pull his hand in any direction the force applied to the thumb will push it back to its original position. And put all the weight in the strap on the wrist.
@armwrestlingprofessorАй бұрын
@@TooBurst-ce5ig I disagree because any small distance advantage gained on the fingers results in a massive increase in torque since fingers are relatively short. Anecdotally it's won me many matches I'm convinced I would have otherwise lost
