The reason why pro kick back is they knew the opponent gonna hook them, kick back can secure more pronation and rise ,it’s a specific technique to counter hook puller . If you are toproller and try to cup ,you will probably got hooked in immediately
@armwrestlingprofessor3 ай бұрын
It can be used as a situational tool like this. But most people don't understand it's specific use case and so when they try it they often just get their cup taken. Auden Larratt is a notable example. I find I can predict 3/4 matches just based on this part of their hand positioning, showing how important it is to not starting in a negative cup based position. I've been meaning to do a video in it for a while

I have a doubt During toproll What is more important back pressure, (using brachioradialis) or dragging? Which can generate more force ? And what is the initial main movement?
@armwrestlingprofessor3 ай бұрын
@@adityateganath you need hand control before you drag so I would have to say your brachi is more important. Your lats will generate more force though, so important to drag once you have hand control. Initial movement is always to take hand, only drag after you've secured hand

Are you sure you're able to legally get that wrist angle before a start? I've never heard the rule of "plane of hand must flat to the side of the table." I don't see a down ref giving a thumbs up there.
@armwrestlingprofessor3 ай бұрын
Yes, I've never had an issue getting a start. The hand flat to the side of the table thing isn't written specifically in any rulebook, but it's ultimately why shoulder committed moves often start with their wrist a little backward in exchange for the extreme shoulder angle
@AdamLighter13 ай бұрын
You cant, you have to have a straight wrist. If you do the thing he is saying, you may just trick the referee, since he cant see it that easily, but you wont be able to start with cupped in wrist, just ever so slightly.

I am mainly a toproller, While playing with same arm length its comfortable for me But If I keep my riser activated (knuckles facing sky) against short arm length players they gain arm rise and I have to drop my arm compared to them and they get much advantage cause they can now use posting and back pressure more conveniently. So i should drop my wrist little bit or what i should do? Your suggestions please
@armwrestlingprofessor3 ай бұрын
@@adityateganath against competitors with a shorter forearm length you likely will have to drop your hand a little bit, unless you move your elbow backwards. Personally I tend to set up in more of a high thumb position anyways and use lots of riser but in a low hand position to help dominate the top spot even though I'm not going high knuckle. Ultimately you might have to experiment and see what works for you, or just get stronger :)

@armwrestlingprofessor3 ай бұрын
@@adityateganath i don't like calling it a 'low hand' technique because really what you're trying to do is get your thumb as high as possible. You only lower your hand so that you don't cover the thumb knuckle
