In regards to the TS-464. When utilizing a QM2 expansion card to add NVMe SSDs, would it be more beneficial to use the expansion card SSDs for caching and use the onboard SSDs for Qtier or vice versa. Thanks

I am implementing 4 NVMe and it is asking me the same thing, will there be any difference in the performance of the disks depending on where you install it?

I currently have an old TVS 671 bought back in 2016 i think, i upgraded it to 16 GB ram and upgraded the CPU to an i7-4790s. I currently use it for Plex and is used by myself locally and a couple of friends have access to my library remotely,..i also run some containers. All my media is h264 so no h265 4k as yet. I am now due to upgrade my NAS and increase storage as i currently have 6 x4tb WD reds and i am running out. So my question is, would this be a good replacement or would my old i7 cpu still out do it ?. I could get this and populate the bays with higher capacity drives for increased storage, but i also want to run a VM running windows 24/5 for my trading so needs to be nippy, does the include CPU have the juice ?. When i tried to run a VM on my 671 it was sluggish even though it said it had plenty of CPU and RAM. Any advise/insight would be welcome.

Hi, If I buy TS-464 from a German retailer does it come with Irish/UK socket plug? If not can you post a link where can I buy one? I am from Ireland. Would a EU to UK socket adapter plug be advisable to use on the NAS or not? Thanks

Why does qnap recommend a vpn when accessing from the outside ? Does this mean if I run plex on the NAS and access it externally the NAS would have to use a VPN for safety ? Am I understanding this correctly ?

Hi I have a ts 264 and when I installed two 980 pro 2tb nvme, it says warning in the storage pool creation table, the warning ⚠️ says this storage will not work properly. I don't know what's the issue although qnap says these drives are supported on this model.

@@SeifEddineBI don't know, try only 1 drive and set up as a cache, see if that works, then remove cache and try other drive, if that also works, remove cache and add both drives and try again with 2, that would be my first troubleshooting method. I use 2x WB SN700 1TB as my cache in a raid (mirrored) configuration and had no issues. I have never used NVME SSDs as the primary storage, only HDD with SSD caching, so I can't comment if that's what you're trying to do. If the drives already had a pool on them, that may cause the error according to a search.
